I’m installing a pioneer NEX with the Metra kit and the radio bezel will not snap in correctly. The fit between the climate controls and the Metra appears to be the issue. There is two tabs on the climate control that fit perfectly with the factory radio but the Metra is sitting too far out. Has anyone experienced this?
You may want to know that I had to do a little mod on the Metro surround in order to get my HU to pivot. If you Pioneer has that function, where the screen tilts up from the bottom in incremental steps, which is a feature to help reduce glare, then you may have this problem too. A little bit of shaving off of the bottom of the Metro (I used a file) and all is good.
Regardless you need to remove the HVAC Control and ash tray assembly before you install the new HU.
