Since you have nothing in your profile about you, your car, or your location, why didn't you bother to mention the track before making that claim?
The whole point was to show the OP, who lives in CA where tracks go negative DA quite often, that mid 11's are possible with just boltons.

Yes A6 with normal 5% slippage vs M6. Several guys with M6 can beat my 60' time. My track in Phoenix is at 1145' and I've still managed 10's with 2100' DA.

its san Antonio raceway the altitude is 600 and the humidity is 100% and it gets up in the 100s quite often the track prep is never good I have a manual with nt05r drag radials I'm going to the track to night should be a crappy da for comparison my best was 12.5 at 117 stock with about 100rwhp after all my mods it went 11.5 at 127 I've ran over 120 passes so it's not a driver issue on the dyno my car put down 397 stock after mods 512

BTW, I checked Drag times and picked a random Friday night in January. At 9 PM on the 12th, the DA was -707'. I'd love that DA, since Phoenix closes the track before the temp gets low enough to go negative.
The track shuts down on Friday nights for the summer. It's in the high 90's and DA is over 4000'.

OP, I think you should start with the mods you have first, then look into going with a cam after you see the results. I think you will be surprised how much the headers, intake, and traction will help. If you can iron out the details and have a solid running car before you touch H/C, just imagine how much better it will run when you do go H/C.
I would also look into gears. Personally, I think a 4.10 is the way to go. 3.90 will be great as well.

I have found that the best results are achieved when you skills are optimized and you extract the most from the setup.

with Gary that you should be running 10's. You might search Joe G, since he's been in the low 1.4's for the 60' and has several launch videos and is running the stock clutch. I'm not a fan of the nt05r tires, especially on 19" wheels.

There's a driver mod for that problem. It can be enhanced by different tires. What exactly are you running now (tire size and wheel) and do you daily drive on the street with them?

I have a LeMans blue 06 m6, vararam, headers, exhaust, 160tstat and tune by henderson. Just under 400/400 to the wheels. Stock wheels with hankooks evo2’s and my best 60’ at SAR (so far) is a 2.0796 (stock clutch and 130k miles). Best full run has been 12.42 @ 117.49 (2.1342 60’ on that run).
Putting together a DR set up...c5z06 fronts with 275/40/17 mt et ss and hoping to hit 11’s

Your 1/8 mile ET and MPH, aka backhalf, indicates you should be good for an 11 flat around 127, if you could launch with a 1.5-1.6 60'.
Don't bother trying to compare your time with the 9 second car in the other lane that probably spun, aborted, and then just got off the track.
You haven't mentioned your tire/wheel choice or if you daily it.

Just for your reference, the DA at that time as reported from Randolph AFB 12 miles away and a few minutes earlier was 2364'. If you have a handheld meter and get a reading trackside at the 1/8th mile point, it'd be more accurate.

Personally, If I don't hook immediately, I abort the pass. There's not much for me to learn with a 1.6xx 60'.
Save your Nitto's for the street and swap before or at the track.

Your 27# wheels and 30# tires are too tall, too wide, and too heavy. That 57# of spinning weight is hard to stop spinning. A 20# C5Z front and a 21# Hoosier 275/40x17 will recover quicker. It makes no sense to spin all the way through 1st and hope it eventually hooks, when a lighter, shorter, and narrower wheel/tire combo will hook quicker if you start to spin.

I've been making my 12.9 passes on stock rims with a 305/40/19 continental extreme tire aired down to about 26 psi and I don't do a "burnout" I just spin them for about 2 seconds from burnout box to starting line to clear off any c*** I may have picked up in the pits or anything post burnout box. They seem to hook GREAT... after the 60ft mark... I was looking into getting a set of Hoosiers on c5 wheels. But from what I've heard isn't it the fronts that you have to run for rears on the base c6?

from what I've heard sticky is good! The weak point on our cars are the axles which wheel hop is what will take them out. Now if you have a super sticky tire and side step the clutch at 5000 rpms and it dead hooks then yea I'm sure you'll break something. But rarely will the car ever hook THAT hard nor will you be trying to launch that hard. If I get the Hoosiers, I'll be launching around 3500 and slipping the clutch a little. As long as it doesn't wheel hop, you should be fine!

Here's a guy, Joe G, and one of his many threads that can help both you and Matt. Joe is a really good guy that'd help anyone with what he's learned.
It starts in 2012, but read the whole thing. You'll find a video near the end that'll probably shock you.
