Default Best sounding muffler for a c6

Hey out there in Corvette land. I have a completely stock 2005. Vette Convertible with a stock LS -2. And a 6 speed manual and I want to leave it stock with the exception of the exhaust for a better sound. I would prefer to only have to deal with tge mufflers. I've done some research on this and have listened to vettes with muffler delete cars, some with the cut outs installed. And some with aftermarket mufflers like magnaflows or corsas. The sound iam looking for is a rumble at idle a throaty sound on excelleration and some poping or crackeling when backing done. Best exhaust I've heard for this cane from a mustang and iam not switching to a Ford. Lol! I want the above sound on a budget and without changing my entire exhaust system. Hopefully just mufflers or deleting them or electronic cut outs. Iam sure I'll get many different answers and that will be a good thing. Look forward to your views!

You might want to look and listen to Borla Attak I’ve got them and they have the rumble you’re looking for.

My 2-Cents ... Hearing the sound of an exhaust mod in person is the only way to decide. That being said, I have Corsa Sports and they pop and crackle on decel and the sound is very European but they are (amazingly) quiet at freeway speeds. I would look at the "sports" or the "extremes".

I've always been a fan of Billy Boat. I originally had Bullets, and then switched to the Fusion so I could get rid of the drone on the highway.

Here's a track video where you can hear the B&B Fusion in action.

If you are looking to just replace the mufflers, check out the Magnaflow 14336 mufflers. I installed a set on my 2005 and I really liked the way it sounded. Not loud but more of a mellow deeper tone. I only recommend this because you say you are going to keep everything stock. The Magnaflow 14336 mufflers was good when my 2005 was stock. But after headers/high flow cats/cam/tune, it got so loud and the drone went insane. I ended up putting my stock mufflers back on to quiet it down and sold my Magnaflow 14336 mufflers to another 2005 C6 owner. He is/was completely stock and loved his new exhaust sound.

Use the search on this forum and you will find a lot of happy people with the Magnaflow 14336 mufflers. I was able to get a pair of mufflers + install + reuse stock tips for under $300.

That popping sound is usually caused by unburned fuel in the exhaust system ignited by air from air leaks. It also happens sometimes when the pipes are too big for the engine output which also causes a loss in performance. Is that what you want to replicate? If so, you might want to go buy a Mustang.

Easy to tune out, or tune in more popping. My convertible I have zero popping. And the z06 I have as much pop as possible since it suits the car

The Borla Attak is very loud...I had a set...the drone is there....and if you have a passenger it might get annoying....I switched to a Borla Touring...this system is much better with very little drone....
