I switched to the Optima yellow top years ago and has been a great battery. Yellow top is a deep cycle so if it goes down you don’t have to worry about damage.

Autozone, Walmart, etc. Almost all batterys come from the same factory. Buy based off warranty and locations to swap it out.

Yes, multiple times. Same with friends/family. They use to be good before they moved the production to Mexico, now they are hit or miss. No better than any other. If you want to go with a different style battery, to the odyssey AGM battery. Otherwise buy based off Warranty. Autozones are typically great because they are all over, quick easy replacement.

Living in the desert where ambient temps top 120 for weeks, I look towards AGM for resistance to boil over from lead-acid types. When I looked for AGM from Interstate, they didn't have one that fit. ;-( I bought Odyssey before (sprung for the metal jacketed one even) but didn't get more than 3 yrs use out of it on my daily driver. I decided I still liked AGM construction, but still haven't found one that fit exactly. Anybody have the model of their Optima yellow top handy?

Fits right in but you'll have to fab a hold down.

slow_z06: My fab skills are nil. Would heavy duty (you know, like bondage thickness?) zip ties work? I am not sure about their resistance to heat. Other than zip ties, my other go to resource is duct tape, but something tells me that wouldn't be a good solution in this case.

Changed mine out at seven and a half years old with another AC Delco...only issue is be forewarned getting it in and out of the rear hatch compartment is a royal PITA...much cussing and knuckle scraping with a second set of hands will be the trick, along with slipping a belt underneath it to get it out!

I have friend that put in a red top about 2 years ago and it is now junk.
