Default Taking the C6 to the 1/8th for the first time

Hey guys, I'm going to take my vette out to the track for the first time soon, it's been more than a decade since I have raced on a real drag strip. Trying to find out what I should expect. I grew up around quarter mile tracks in the northeast, so honestly I don't know much about what good 1/8th mile times even are for a C6. Around me we have a bunch of good 1/8th tracks, but the closest 1/4 tracks are about an hour away and not so great.

Here's a few details about my ride, maybe you guys can give me any pointers that might help and maybe place a guess as to what it might run?

forged and stroked to 416ci
heads milled and compression upped to 12.25:1
runs on e85 (typically about 78-81%)
headers, no cats, stock mufflers
id1000 injectors, ls7 fuel pump
lsx intake manifold lightly ported, 102 TB, halltech intake
custom cam - 243/251, 629/629, 113 lsa, 110 center
ls7 clutch
Nitto 555R 285/40ZR18 drag radials out back

It's making about 540 rwhp/510 tq

I know it's a lot about the driver, and I know I need some practice launching the car without spinning.

Thanks!

On those tires and with the LS7 clutch, you should expect low 7s at near 100 mph. That clutch will only take so much slip on the launch and may overheat causing the pedal to fall to the floor if you are too aggressive. Your Nitto DRs should put you in the 1.6s-1.7s on a well prepped track.
Initial tire pressure should be 21 psi cold.
The first pass or two should be like coming off a traffic light to get use to the car.
Once you feel comfortable, you should bring the rpms up to 3500, find the point just prior to clutch engagement, start a smooth clutch release while rolling into the throttle. Do not dump the clutch. Get out if you wheelhop. You clutch release and roll into the throttle should occur within about the first 3' to 10'.
Based on the track prep, you can adjust tire pressure and / or launch rpm. In general, that clutch will hold until about 4200 rpm with the described type of launch.
Good luck.

Thanks! Most helpful, I should note that I have experienced the clutch pedal issue you mentioned in the past. But I have the Lingenfelter Clutch Pedal Return Kit now which helps a lot. Also helps with faster shifts.

The most important thing is to have fun. Don't stress yourself over mistakes or poor times, but be happy to be doing again what you haven't done for several years. The technique and timing probably won't return completely for a while, just like anything else that you don't do very often. Enjoy the new relationship.

Cool. It shows you have good power and that you quickly started a return to a better launch after a long absence. Once those older skills are all back in place, you'll be looking at 1.5 short times, mid 6's, and pushing 110's. If you continue to have traction problems, you might try 275/40x17 Hoosiers as they are lighter and shorter for a gear ratio advantage.
Keep having fun in the process, since that's why we do it.

Thanks guys, I am very confident I can get the 60' down to 1.5 or so with some more practice. I was still fussing with finding the right launching technique. And I am pretty sure I am shifting early on the 1-2 shift. It comes up so fast, I really need a shift light to help with it. I'm hopeful that next time I can get a good 7.0 run in there if conditions are right. I also think my master cylinder is due for replacement, pedal gets stuck to the floor all the time. I have the clutch return spring, but I can still feel it when I press the pedal at the end of the run.
