I am looking at an 05 Base with "Selective Ride" control switch on the console. Is this the same as the later magnetic ride control on the later models?

Yes the 05 car is MSR(magnetic selective ride)

Just FYI, 160K miles, MRC shocks still great!!

Miles have to also do with it at 117K.

Just make sure that the PO did not swap it out. Son and I were looking at one and it had the selective ride control but didn't seem to make any difference because someone previously had swapped the MRC shocks out.

I have MRC in mine and I would never go without it if given the option.
