Default Grand Sport 1/4 Mile Time.

I have the 430 hp version, did not go the extra $1100 for the extra 6 hp exhaust when I ordered it, but I did go for the A6. The car is as it came off the show room floor; no mods, period.

I went to the track today and after some experimenting with the launching procedure I got an 1.88 60 ft. with the Traction Control= ON.

1/4 et= 12.31
MPH= 115.75

Full tank of gas and I weigh 250 lbs. to boot; and remember the GS is about the heaviest Corvette.

I would post the time slip but I do not have the clearance to post attachments.

PS: I did go a few rounds bracket racing and won a little green.

Scan the time slip into your computer (or just take a quality pic), and open a free Photobucket account.

Upload the pic, then copy-n-paste the img. tag into reply box below.

That's right about where I figured mine would run, but never got it to the track to verify it in stock form.

I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer stuff so can you post a link that I can click on to open a free photobucket account, etc.

Roll your mouse over the pic, below it a drop down menu opens, copy the IMG CODE, then paste here like this:

Or, click on your picture on photobucket, it will open to a larger picture and look to the left and you'll see the IMG CODE.

The other guy red lighted on this pass, so I was in no hurry leaving and I let her go.

Mine's not a GS but it is a 2008 A6 widebody with all the Z06 parts.
Went to the local 1/8th miles track last Sat.
The car hooked good but fell off right after it left the line.
The car is pulling timing.

My 60 ft times were all around 1.66 - 1.67.
The car went 7.43 @ 95.75

The DA was 1700, which is fantastic for Barona. The track is around 1650 above sea level and it's always hot up there and the DA is always around 2500-3000.

The car has AR longtubes, 3:15 gears, Yank 3600 , MT drag radials.

That's an outstanding 60'. I've never gotten below 2.0.

So your leaving traction control and active handling on, correct? When I first got my GS i didn't know about the active handling. Let me tell you I thought this car was slooooowww...I would do 1st-4th pulls and it felt like like the car was holding back. Well I learned of the active handling and turned it off.....The car is MUCH MUCH faster now....I don't if you keep it on for you 60 time or not but, the car is faster with it off.

Default Logic

People say to leave the traction off for the best time; well that may not be true. If the tires do not spin in the first place than none of the traction control measures kick in from what I have gathered; so your 60 ft's. would be the same either way.

Now lets move on to bracket racing. If you blow the tires away (traction= off, etc.) than you "lost" the race for sure and with a bad 60 ft. It's easy to do with stock tires, but with the traction on you may still stand a chance.

How I launched:

1) Trans in S mode.

2) "Light" burnout (clean tires); traction off for the burnout, then back on again and "then" do a dry hop or two which may pick up some of that sticky track rubber on your way to the starting line. The dry hops (secret ingredient) may help but will not hurt.

3) Bring the rpm's up to 1000 (800 to 1200 works good, experiment) after lighting the first staging bulb and than slowly roll in and "Just" light the second staging bulb.

Leave as the last yellow light "comes on" and you may have a kick a$$ reaction time.

Re-cap: (for dummies like me )
1) S mode
2) light burnout
3) 1000 rpm launch (swallow stage)

Note: From my experience the Re-cap is the ticket either way i.e. Traction Control "on" or "off" with the stock tires, etc.

PS: Off topic but I pull mid 1.4's 60 ft's with MT drag radials on the foot brake in my air conditioned street driven V6 Buick.

If it is still completely stock than take it to the track and please report back.
