Sway Bar End Link Adjustment ? (Sway Bar Pre-Load ?)
Question - 2005 C6 Base Coup - Going to Aldan American coil overs & Sweinjager sway bars and have purchased 2 sets of Whiteline KC-110 adjustable end links on a suggestion from another member on here.
The rear original sway bar was set neutral - with the car on the ground the end link bolts could be removed easily - there was no pre-load on the OEM setup.
The front original sway bar was set with some pre-load, had to loosen the bushing brackets holding the sway bar to be able to unload the tension on the system before being able to remove the end link bolts.
Question:
I have read that with the car on the ground both (front & back) sway bar end links should be adjusted to the neutral setting. The OEM end links did not allow any adjustments and the front had some pre-load on the bar. I will not be tracking this car and it will be a simi-daily driver - is the neutral setting of the both bars correct? If you have gone to different than OEM sway bars, how did you set up your system during the installation?
Thanks for any help and information is greatly appreciated!

Adjustable end links come in handy for race prepped cars.
Hence your going to run the car long enough that you are going to start bending the frame, and will need to use the adjustable end links to put even pressure on the sway bay with the car corner balanced,
Or,
Your setting the car up for oval track use with a straights and left hand turn only, and are "Wedge" setting up the suspension instead.
For a DD, if you do need adjustable end links with the car corner balanced, then either frame is bent, or sway bar is bent instead.
As for when you are installing the sway bar, make sure to dielectric grease the bushings so the sway bars can move in the bushings to start with, before you bolt the end links in place. Hence disconnect the end links, corner balance the car, and this is you find that when you go to install the end links, the sway back is not setting up neutral, its time to start checking the frame and parts to figure out what is not straight.

The above is not true, your car is a combination of thousands of parts, and it doesn’t necessarily have to have a bent frame or sway bar to have preloaded OEM parts.
the simple answer is if you have adjustable end links, install them neutrally. Even the stock springs are adjustable, and I’ve seen tons of cars with “wedge” simply because someone wanted to slam the car on the ground without scales or symmetry!
