Default Doing a rear only OEM wide body kit, so..

If I buy a set of factory Z06 or GS wheels and tires, how much would the fronts stick out?
Has anyone done that ? Or should I just look at aftermarket rears 19x12s ?

Sorry, but not asking opinions on why I should do the front wide body as well. Not in the budget for right now.
Thanks.

I did the rear wide body on my 05 I had. I installed OEM ZO6 wheels. ZO6 tires on rear and C6 narrow front tires on wider wheels. Fit was good and didn't stick out too bad. Looked good to me

I've wondered this myself as I've wanted wider tires on the rear but a good set of spacers on the rear will work just fine also.

Did the narrow tires stretch on the new wider front wheels?

A picture would help please. Thanks,

The tires did stretch out a little. Don't have any pictures. Sold the 05 several years ago

Is there a reason you have your mind set up on a full set of OEM wheels? I also have a rear wide body on my 05. I went with standard Z06 size and offset for the rear and normal base size and offsets for the front. 19x12 rear with a 18x9 up front. I have been running this combo for about 3 years now without issues. I'd recommend going with repros for the front in base size/offset and run OEM Z06 size/offset for the rear if you're going for that look. I have heard of a few people that run OEM Z06 wheels up front on base size tires if your mind is set on buying a full OEM Z06 set.

I recently did the front conversion on mine but for a few years I rocked only the rear widebody on the car. I did aftermarket wheels cause I just don’t care for heavy stock wheels. Pics from rear only setup:

Was thinking about doing the same to my Base 2006. Besides looking simply fantastic -- nice job you guys -- did it help any at all with power-oversteer / torque-oversteer, whatever ya wanna call it? Yeah, a heavy right foot can be a fun / bad thing. Thanks in advance for any words!

I'm currently running this setup. OEM Z06 wheels all around with a rear widebody and stock sized front tires. Works just fine. I'm thinking about trying out a 255 when I replace my current tires to see how that fits.

I've thought about doing a front widebody, but like you said, the cost is huge compared to the rear, and I don't see much benefit for how I use it.

F15E 1Y, I can't be of any help on the handling / oversteer aspect. I've got the softest stock sway bars, 345 drag radials in back, and 4 year old 245 wide all seasons up front. As a result, handling is pretty poor for a vette.

You didn’t have any problems running the 265 up front and 345 in the back? Like AH or TC or anything else
