Hi All
I have a Pioneer SPH-DA120 radio in the C6. I hooked the backup camera + to the key on 12V, the ground to chassis, the camera to the correct input on the radio, and the purple/white backup signal wire to the rear backup light. I get a "jumbled" picture that is the same whether the car is running (reverse) or acc on with camera view. Anyone have the answer? Thanks!
Just stumbled across the answer. Nowhere in the installation manual or the owners manual did it mention to check the video type. This head unit is quite complicated (unless you are a teenager, LOL)
a found a setting where it showed PAL, NTSC, etc. The unit was set to PAL. I realized immediately that it should be set at NTSC. After changing, the picture is perfect. Hope this helps if you have one of these!
Did you run the reverse signal wire from the rear of your car all the way up to the head unit or did you tap that signal at the BCM fuse? I am just starting to wire a Pioneer AVH-1500 HU and wondered if the reverse signal wire could be taken from tapping revere light fuse in the BCM? I know there is a relay and 10 amp fuse for backup lights on the BCM but can't find a schematic to indicate if the 10amp fuse is triggered by the relay or whether it is on "hot" with the key. Guess I will have to check it with a test light.
