I have an 08 with the V10 Nav disk. I have had my battery out at least twice in the last month and have no GPS or Clock issues... Go figure.
1st time was to replace the battery as it would not hold a charge. It was out for most the day.
2nd time was about a week later due a dead cell in the replacement battery. The battery was discharged and recharged multiple times and was out of the car for most of one day to get a new battery.
Just checked the radio clock function and it works as designed.

It could be that your nav radio was transplanted from a 2011-2013 car. The model number imprinted on the radio will tell you that. Maybe the nav radio was added to a non nav car, and the previous owner bought a newer radio or the original radio had gone bad and was replaced with a newer radio. That's the only way your radio clock will continue to work after a battery disconnect. IMHO.
I did run the Nav Diag's and here is what was displayed.
They was some discussion on the GPS rollover date (Apr 6, 2019) may be an issue. I only mention this as I received an email from TomTom to update my handheld GPS. According to their website, the Nav 2 & 3 versions are affected and the Nav 4 version is not. I only mention this because after looking at the GM 9.0C update disk I noticed that TomTom is mentioned on the label.

Most of us have the latest DVD update Version 10 as it is very cheap on Ebay. Still no clock. The latest is a 2016 update. There has not been an update since.

[QUOTE=oemtech;1598933319]I bought the window sticker and build code sheet from the NCM and both show Nav Radio. So, it's not an add-in Nav Radio. I also doubt it has been replaced and I am not going to pull the console to find out.

I posted a while back that I also have this very same problem. Drove me nuts. And today 2 months later, I get in the car to go to work and it's all better. Nightmare over. No explanation.

Thanks, Matt

Having been an Advisory Programmer back in the day... I believe it is a software glitch.
I had an issue very similar with my 17 Dodge Scat Pack Uconnect radio. But, Dodge has a radio "Reset/Reboot" function, do I smell Microsoft. lol The reset only made the issue worse as I ended up with base radio configuration with a Chrysler logo. The solution was to pull the fuses for the radio and media center (Console USB ports) and another reboot.

2009 zo6. In the dealership for 3 weeks for a new motor. Now no radio clock. I will try the sunshine/satellite theory.

Dont buy one yet or go with the 2011-2013 USB model like I did. Its still unclear what part # radios are involved. 2011-2013 USB Part # 20856087 is NOT. These seem to be unaffected and If your gonna pay $150 for reprogramming I'd wait! Although you can install it BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!______! DONT START THE CAR as that WILL activate the Theft Lock system. The door will freeze and you Map DVD will be stuck. LOL. I know! Then you will have to pay for programming! In my case I let the guy keep my 15 year old Nav DVD that was a Ver. 1. LOL.
More Info on USB system!

Anyway I have a #15233090 Nav Radio I'll sell as is for $150 so there ya go. NO Guarantees on the Clock. LOL.
Cheers!

Other Note to Self. I've talked to a few others that say their clocks are still working with a battery disconnect after Dec 2018. So its WTH is going on. Chevrolet hasn't said!

I contacted Chevy and opened a case to get on the list when they are ready with a firmware update. Someone recently said that there was a TSB that GM was working on. I we could get that number it would help move this forward with the Charleston Dealers.

Not going to help IMHO.
I suspect that a configuration file has gotten corrupted. But, then again a reflash of the radio should fix the problem as long as there is not an associated hardware problem.

I replaced my battery two days ago and now, no clock. I thought it was a glitch from low voltage at one point until I read this thread. Definitely not everyones radio failing.
