All up set about the information being shared?
you messaged me about how dare someone not wait... but you did not leak your info so your good. But to act like it’s a problem to SHARE information on a forum that’s main point is to share information is dumb.
someone leaks it. Its leaked. Oh let me share it with all my corvette friends...
period. Not your problem.
also you act like your the only test bed.
for all you know he told you to wait so his buddy on the other forum could be the release guy, or just so he could drop it. You don’t know the whole back story only what you have been told.
but for sure don’t post up like there is a issue with sharing data, and a link that’s already out to the public is out of line.

Vintagegas is a man in my book. If guys dont have his same ethics, well I dont know what to say about them.
Its a simple trust thing. The fix was on the way out in a couple days. What happens the next time we need a fix, and the guys says no I lost my job last time I helped because I trusted someone that burned me?

But to set the record straight...yes a forum is a place to share info. BUT TO SHARE IT AT THE PROPER TIME. When someone does you a favor and asks one of you, it should not be an issue.
And as you mention about someone on another forum releasing the info and the engineer knowing about it. I can tell you that is not the case. He was very surprised by it.
Also I never said I was the only test bed. It was posted on this forum that there were other vette owners who lived in Michigan who volunteered their vehicles for the test.
What's done is done, time to forget it and move on.

I'm a Vette owner vet and that's exactly how I saw it when I noted the 11/11 posting date. Yes, I'm one of the owners that actually lost his clock on 12/11 and I am so looking forward to the fix. I haven't seen any post with DENSONAVI's email. I sure would like to send this person a personal thanks. Can anyone help me out?

I'm a Macbook user too. First I dragged and dropped the folder to the blank CD-R. I hit burn at the top right corner and waited. Once done I ejected the disk and pulled '08 vert out into the driveway. I ejected the map DVD and inserted the new install disk; nothing happened.
I took another disk and dragged only the KWI file. I went through the same iterations and lo and behold, it worked as advertised. I had to wait about three or four minutes until the red slash disappeared from GPS. I tested it by putting in an address and received the familiar miles AND TIME to destination. Good luck.
Finally, I am embarrassed to say when I first saw that it was posted a day early I figured I'd wait another day. However, when I saw so many of us had downloaded the fix I figured it must have been okay to do so too. My deepest apologies to Densonavi for the breech of trust. I should have waited and honestly feel ashamed. Nevertheless, my humblest thanks for your diligent work in fixing this for all of us. Please don't think ill of us for jumping the gun. It took only one person the jump the gun to cause a snowball effect. If I could take it back I would, as I believe would many others here would too. Again, thank you very much. You have no idea how perturbing it was to not have the functioning clock in the nav system.
Sincerely, Dale C

Advanced
Installed fix yesterday, it took less time to install it then it did to burn the CD. Now I have at least 6 guys from our club that need me to fix their clocks...
Thanks to Densonavi for doing this.. What a great person.

Thank you to Mr. Densonavi for being a person of strong moral character in taking the time to use your knowledge to make a patch to fix the clock issue on our beloved Corvette’s radio/navigation. KUDOS sir!!! Salute!
(I will install the fix on my 06 Z51 Vert come May. My baby is up off the floor and tucked in nice and snug for the loooong winter nap. I’m looking forward to seeing my clock again. Though a small thing, it just looks missing, incomplete...blank.)

Note: I am not a software engineer and I neither work for Denso nor GM.
The following is the info, as promised:
https://tis2web.akamai.gm.com/radio/corvette_gps_my_05_10_fix.zip
The above link is for Corvettes only
1. download the zip file.
2. Extract the KWI file.
3.Burn the KWI file to a disc
4.Start your car
5.Put the CD in the map disc slot.
6.The update will start automatically.
7.Reinstall your Nav disc
There are other links for Cadillac, which i think, will be provided through GM

I burned the file to a DVD-R using a MacBook Pro and the radio upgraded perfectly.

Also much thanks to the Denso engineer that put the time and effort to fix the clock for us and keep us informed of the progress.

Thanks
Thanks to all that work hard to help us out with a fix.
I won't get to use it for long as I put the car away at the end of the month and its really nice to have it done.
