I got mine to work again by putting in a destination (my home address) I dont know if it helped but i pushed the red and white thing above the red slash symbol and just drove and after about 2 miles the slash mark went away still no clock though
The Red slash will go away, Your Nav will still work just No Clock! Needs a Firmware fix. Call Chevy and Bitch! The numbers are just above

On 12/13/18 a changes must have been made to the satellite communications that disables the clock once the battery is removed. I went into diagnostic mode and it shows the errors began on that date. It seems to only impact the clock. I have a C6 2007 Z51 and found the issue when I changed out the car battery in the first week of Feb 2019. I am calling Chevy Customer support to see if they have found a fix at this time.

The Satellite didn't change as 2011-2013 Nav are fine. They added a longer bit stream for the week counter for marine and military receivers. These radios have a firmware problem that should have been addressed a long time ago. Nippon Denso had to have known this was coming and fixed the firmware in 2011 up Nav units.Call Chevy and get a case #.

Agreed, I had by battery unplugged for 1 month when I did my LS7 heads in my garage and I plugged the battery back in and absolutely no clock issue. So it can't just be a coincidence. ALL OF US have clock issues at the exact same time frame on our Vettes. No way. This is weird.

Look at walhan_qtr that had all those Vettes go down. Unless our Corvettes are all secretly communicating with each other behind all of our backs for some elaborate April Fools day joke GM has to figure this out.

This issue happened in my 2007 C6 when I changed the battery in the first week of Feb 2019. I ran the diagnostics as described in this thread and found that the errors started on 12/13/18. I can also see the satellite signal strength under one of the menus so it is not the antenna. It most likely will be a software updated that is needed to fix the issue. That is called a firmware upgrade.

Default Nav radio clock or time

I have 2005 C6 with the clock or time not work also and after the battery reconnected. That's 7 to 10 of us with same problem. I would bet if more C6 owners would disconect there battery they will have the problem too. Is there any more info on what the problem is?

It's much more than 7-10 even on this thread, I think. I also did a google search and there are numerous folks on other sites (incl. some general interest audio, mechanical, etc.), reporting the same thing.

GM is definitely aware of the problem, I thnk they know the cause as well, but have not yet figured out a fix. I was told by the GM rep I spoke with that dealers will reach out to all affected car owners (I think it's more than the tens of thousands of 2005-2010 Vettes with navi) when a cure is found.

One wonders if a cure will "ever" be found if in fact such cure is pricy for GM and the dealers

Don't have Nav in my vette (77 C3) but do in my 08 hummer h2 and it does some of the same things as here. For me when the clock goes away from changing the battery or it going dead there is a hidden menu that can be accessed and I can reset the year, date and clock, it comes back but its off by an hour with no way to correct it. When I try to reset using the correct way (as in the manual) there is no "set" button to select. The red line through the GPS flag is there for a while then goes away. The Area Selection never stays set and my saved addresses get deleted every time I shut the truck off.

Hope they get this figured out soon,

I've ordered a rebuilt unit to replace this one so hopefully it will work.

Neal

2008-2009 Hummer H2 is included in the bulletin for this clock problem. Rebuilt unit shouldn't change anything.

I really doubt GM or Denso will address this problem since the units affected are so old. This is an excellent scenario were a third party programer could make a pot of money selling a firmware update disk to fix this problem.

I stumbled across a Tech Bulletin dated April 2009 that GM offered a software update to the dealers that was to correct a few issues to certain Nav units. One of the issues this software update corrected was the disappearing clock.

The Update Disc P/N 25956121

Your Vehicle: 2008 Hummer H2
Navigation Radio - Various Malfunctions

TECHNICAL

Bulletin No.: 08-08-44-002B

Date: April 14, 2009

Subject:
Navigation Radio Clock and/or Clock Tab Do Not Appear or Disappears Intermittently, Split Screen, Points of Interest or Exit List Appears While Driving, Text Color May Be Difficult to See, Address Book Characters May Be Hard to Find, Cannot Scroll Through XM Radio Categories, I Agree Screen Lockouts (Update Navigation Radio with New Software)

Models:
2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe
2007-2008 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Yukon Denali XL
2008 HUMMER H2
with Navigation Radio RPO UVB or U3U

Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add additional customer concerns and to update the list of Operating Characteristics the software addresses. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-08-44-002A (Section 08 - Body & Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment about any of the following conditions:

-The clock and/or clock tab does not appear or disappears intermittently on the navigation screen.

-A split screen, points of interest or an exit list may appear on the navigation screen while driving.

-The text color may be difficult to see on light color backgrounds.

-The address book entry characters may be hard to find.

-The customer may not have the ability to scroll through the XM radio categories while the vehicle is in motion.

-The customer may not be able to scroll through music navigator, MP3 folders, address book, POI's and Turn List when the vehicle is in motion.

-"I Agree" screen appears every ignition cycle.

-Destination entry screens do not have a "back" button to return to previous page.

-Customer is not able to adjust screen brightness while vehicle is in motion.

Important
If the vehicle is not equipped with one of the following radio part numbers, disregard this bulletin.

-15882766

-15882767

-15940102

-15940103

-25797978

-25834072

Looks like they offered a software fix for a few units for the truck units,

If anyone has access to the tech bulletins maybe you can do a search for "Navigation Radio - Various Malfunctions"

The RPO code is the same as mine that this bulletin addresses, I looked for the update disc on the net but couldn't find it anywhere

Hopefully as long as I don't loose a battery the clock will work and the other issues will continue to work.

Time will tell. Would not be the first time GM reps worked from a “script” designed to appease angry customers while the company ignored the complaint...

Default Clock not working

Please add me to the list.

2006 Z06 - car sitting waiting to swap out engine and battery died. Once engine fixed and battery fully charged, clock not working and all clock options greyed out in setup.

Welcome to the club of "The clock stopped working." Every day there is someone now with the same problem but only after the battery disconnected. Suggest calling GM and dealership and report the problem. The more of us that do might help to get the problem fixed. As more C6 owner disconnect their batteries more will have the problem, I believe.
