Default Recommended brake pads for daily driver only

Hi guys, have a c6 gs w/6spd, just cracked 30k miles, have never tracked the car and don’t intend to, what are some decent brake pads people would recommend for something daily driving (looking to put 5k miles a year).

How are the autozone brake pads?

DD only? I'd get a decent value/budget ceramic, GM or Hawk's would fit this bill imo.

Take a look at the Carbotech 1521 pads I prefer the 1 piece design more pad surface and better pedal feel.

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use. If you want

I took of the original pads that come with a z51 and replace them with the z26. With the Factory pads the brake dust was crazy. The z26 stop just as good as the factory and absolutely no dust I love them.

I don’t think you can beat Carbotech, you might find cheaper but I don’t know about better.

My vote is for Carbotech 1521 pads for street use. Long lasting. Excellent initial bite. Very low dust. No noise. Not cheap. lol

Nothing wrong with the AC Delco pads. I had 50K miles on my '05 Z51 (no track time) last winter & although wasn't hearing any noise from the existing pads thought that it was time for replacement. Got a great price for AC Delco pads & rotors on Amazon plus free shipping & at the time, no sales tax. When I pulled the old pads, found there was plenty of material remaining, but went ahead & changed the pads & rotors anyway. Have put on about 3,000 miles since then with no problems at all.

On my 08 with Z51 suspension I went with Autozone's Dura Gold ceramic pads and never looked back.

Daily driver with the mileage you state doesn't really tell us much. How do you drive the car when you drive it?
