I imagine it does flow better, I imagine it might fit...but I believe it requires changing your MAF sensor to the newer blade type.

I just installed a Callaway Honker Cold Air Induction System last weekend.... I'm getting my car dyno tuned at Mike Norris Motorsports on June 10th.... I'll report the numbers after I get them. Seat of the pants feel is about the same with maybe a bit better throttle response.
The reason I bought the Callaway System is because it actually gets intake air in front of the radiator in the cold air stream, not stagnant air from the engine compartment like most others do. Now granted, these others have improved, larger air filters, but it's also the cooler, denser air that will provide more power.
Keep that in mind when choosing an aftermarket air induction system... it's a bit more involved installing the Callaway system since I had to remove the front shroud and cut out an area to provide for the new air filter housing, but this guarantees you're getting cooler outside air. The components are decent quality and the final installation looks like it is factory installed.
If you're a decent home mechanic it should be no problem; the directions are OK but I found that removing both LH & RH front brake duct panels in the forward wheel well area made it a lot easier to remove and install the shroud. This is not specified in the directions.
I also considered the Vararam System but read on this Forum that there has been some fitment/quality issues; hence I chose the Callaway System.
Good luck with your selection!

lot of money for a bit better,,,,,my 2005 came with the K&N , but also came with the original stock dual filter factory system in a box.
was going to put the stock/ factory system back on , was thinking of modifying the filter boxes to flow more air
like cutting out holes in the bottoms ? anyone tried this

Well it is MY money.... and this Cold Air Intake combined with my other mods will add up.
That's what's great about this country and this Forum.... freedom to do what you want and sharing knowledge with fellow enthusiasts.
You're free to NOT modify your Vette; but don't knock the people who do and try to help inform others...

On the LS3 motor, the Helmholtz Resonator actually showed a slight improvement in torque. Not so on the LS7. With that being said, I would not cut it off or put a LS7 intake on an LS3. I know that its ugly but why throw out torque.Never read anything about an improvement with the LS7 intake on an LS3. Maybe onesey twosey. Maybe someone did a comparison on a chassis dyno using the two intakes on an LS3. , and would like to chime in.

i have the K&N in it now , not looking for intake sound, have enough exhaust sound , not sure what the stock flows air like ? but can modify the stock boxes with large holes and or tubes / ducts out the bottom to the sides, not buying oil for the K&N any more, they make high flow dry filters

Second owner here, my '08 LS3 came with a Vararam and power wedge / rubber throttle body spacer, I swap the stock intake back on for smog checks. It could be my imagination but it seems to run a little better with the Vararam. By pulling cool air from the grill instead of hot air from under hood, it helps to keep the computer from pulling timing and reducing power.

'09 VARARAM along with my mods - keep stock air cleaner for smog checks "IF" needed but my smag station is pretty cool with the VARARAM
Thanks,Matt
