just bought an 05 convertible ,,,when you pull the leaver and turn it and push it up a little making it ready fto open the top,,,you get the indication ,,,top not secure message like you should ,,,then press the open top button nothing happens,,now if you press the close top button it closes ,,,,,I checked the switch in back in the trunk,,its good ,,,windows go down,,,,just doesn't open,,,help if you have seen this ,,any ideas ,,thanks tony,,, tonycorvettes@aol.com

really? never had to do that before,this isn't the first c6 convertible had,but ill try that

no I have never done that,i have put the top down while moving.didnt make any difference

Probably a faulty top up/down switch on dash or a faulty trunk partition switch.
But first I would try just re-indexing the windows.

1. Close the door.

2. Raise both windows by pulling up the on the window switch.

3. After the windows full closes, hold the up switch in the up position for three seconds and then release the switch.

4. Hold the window switch in the up position AGAIN for three seconds and release.

This is called resetting of the window indexing or power window initialize and is in the owner’s manual. See page 2-17 of the 2005 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2006 owner’s manual, page 87 of the 2007 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2008 owner’s manual, page 2-18 of the 2009 owner’s manual, page 3-18 of the 2010 owner’s manual, or 2-18 of the 2011 owner’s manual.
