Default Active Handling Control or Traction control problem I think

I just purchased a 2011 Z 06 with 1,656 miles on it and have been experiencing an issue while both of these are engaged under different circumstances the car seems to all of a sudden want to nose dive and pull to the right as if the car is sensing the loss of traction or control.
A couple of times active handling has come on the dash for a split second
If I totally disengage both the active handling and the traction control the problem doesn't happen
Also there are no codes or lights staying on the dash to check out
Any help will be appreciated
Pat

Hi Pat - I had a similar problem on my 2005 z51.
It kept turning on active handling and traction control and going into limp mode.
We replaced the throttle body and that worked for me.
Apparently LS7 throttle bodies are way cheaper than LS2 and they're the same diameter?

Search my name and "Steering angle sensor" issue.

Let me guess - your car has a telescopic wheel and these issues happen normally when you hit a bump or a sharp curve?

What a cream puff!! Rather than me repeat the answer...Listen to Mike above . This is the answer. Steering angle sensor loses connection intermittently. It happened to me several times and it was kinda scary, not knowing where the car is going to point itself when the brakes are applied. I think the fix was to zip tie the electrical connector under the steering column.

On mine, the housing that held the sensor broke from behind the steering column causing it to spin/hang freely. Every time i hit a bump the sensor would swing and the car would think I was trying to turn in a direction -> activating the brakes to do so. Very dangerous - hit a pothole on the freeway, get steered into another lane.

There is/was a TSB on that and it's an easy fix, although not covered by a recall. Not saying this is the cause of your issue, but no harm in checking.

It has a telescopic wheel doesn't happen when hitting a bump it happens when on a left hand bend or turn or even if driving straight if you quickly turn wheel or jerk wheel to left it tries to stop car seems like passenger front brake is engaging

Okay, so heres a quick fix/temp fix/check on issue. If you pull the kick panel above the pedals, you can see the steering column going into the firewall. at the base of this, there is a SAS (Steering angle sensor). If it is NOT fully mounted to the column, that is your issue. A temp fix is to remove the electrical connection to this SAS - it will disengage active handling fully until you can fix the issue. You MAY need a tech2/dealership to diagnose and reset the SAS if it is unmounted and if it spun on its axis too much (have to reset zero)
