C6 Engine Belt Adjustment.
I have a DIC message to say Service Charging System on my 2008 Callaway Corvette (mileage only 15k kms). The battery and alternator have been exchanged about a year ago so I think the engine belt either needs adjusting or replacing. So I’d appreciate some advice on how to adjust the belt to see if that resolves the problem......thanks in anticipation SpanishMike.
I would be more inclined to suspect the alternator. Why was it changed at 15k kls? New oem, rebuilt junk or china junk?
Don't just go throwing parts at the car, find someone to diagnois the problem.
It could be a easily fixed problem--loose or coroded connection, etc. Even a 1 yr old battery could be bad.
What does the volt meter show?
Is the dic message constant or intermittant?
Easy fix might be to disconnect 1 cable from the battery, then wait 10 mins to reconnect it.

You don't say whether you replaced the alternator with OEM. Some aftermarket alternators have been known to give service charging system alarms, but as mentioned, get your charging system checked. I had a 6 month old battery go bad. They don't last more than 5 years in the C6, even if kept on a battery tender. My current battery is going on 6 years, and already, it takes forever to get it up to green on the battery tender plus....must be a shorted cell. Time for a new one for me.
