Default Help please, questions after cam, headers installed

I have a c6 Z06 2007. Stock heads, intake system except k@n filter. I had a local "performance " shop install a btr stage 1 v2 cam and speed engineering headers with a x pipe with cats.

1st the car seems to shake more than I'd expect. They failed to tighten the driver side motor mount ! But I've tighten it the best I could. It still seems to idle and go into a harmonic shaking issue. BTR says it should have a *mild* idle per website. . It's pretty loppy. I'm wondering if it's acting normal for this cam ? I had the cam kit installed with the bronze upgrade trunions too. And the ti retainers and the upgrade springs in the kit etc. The driver side header is hitting the steering shaft also. Could this be causing KR that's messing with the timing ? Question--Best way to dent the header ??
The only answer i got about having the timing or idle adjusted by the company, was it's the cam. I don't think the car should be shaking and changing on how it idles into different harmonic situations. Enough to shake the door panel in making noise...Once off idle it's pretty smooth and it drives fine, but I haven't really driven it much. I'm having issues with the traction control system and it's freaking out. Which isn't normal, but I've found a wire running to the passenger side front wheel hub loose and hitting the wheel and tire. I secured it but that hasn't helped. I'm wondering what I should be looking for that could be causing this. Maybe a loose wire ? Or ground ? The whole front of the car was out so I'm guessing they probably knocked something loose etc. It doesn't always stay on with the car running but has stayed on for 3 days . Are there certain areas to look at ?

I don't have the tuning table or whatever, would that be helpful in diagnosing the idle issues ?
The car made about 501 rwhp with this setup.
The car sounds good. Should I ask the company for the tuning parameters? I know they thought i had bad gas because they were having issues with getting timing, I was told. They pulled some gas and added fresh gas , it least that's what they said they would be doing. How much timing should I have at idle ? I have a scanner and can check it. It says 20.1 on throttle, which i think is angle ? It's obviously not 20% really running that open with the pedal right ? Maybe that's normal ??
I don't want to have my new rebuild damaged. Since I've had numerous smaller issues with their attention to other details on this build I'm hoping to get some good advice from you guys. I really need to be able to daily drive this car. That's the whole reason for the smaller btr cam.

thanks everyone

I’d let your local “performance” shop that did the work handle this…let them recheck their work…good luck !!

Unfortunately, even the mild cams can have that kind of idle. let it sit long enough at idle and it'll start to rock back and forth some. I'm leaning more towards having someone reputable clean up the tune. This can greatly affect idle too.

Take it to another shop/tuner as it sounds like this "performance" shop is not very good.

Forgetting to tighten a motor mount and not checking to make sure the headers weren't rubbing on anything is amateur hour. So you do need to fix the header rubbing problem first. Speed Engineering headers suffer from typical cheap header problems in that they sometimes fit fine but other times don't fit and rub.

A good tuner can smooth out the idle so that it is better. Won't be as smooth as stock as it is bigger cam but it can be improved.

I had to take my car to two shops for a proper tune. First shop, tuned the car okay but was still lacking. 2nd shop sorted everything out and dialed in the tune. Sucks to pay twice but is sometimes necessary.

Best may be for the shop to check their work..... loose bolts, tune, motor mount failure.

Clearance to the steering shaft... besides a motor mount issue, attain clearance with heat and a hammer I'd say.

Perhaps check for a failed spark plug wire or coil... ie confirm you are firing on all 8 cylinders
Lastly, the known issue of a potential harmonic dampener failure.
These two could cause a "shake".

Traction control.. do a search, the wiring inside the driver compartment as it attaches to the steering column is common, as is the wiring at the wheel hubs.

Good luck.

I’d prob take the car back and have the shop check their work. Hopefully your balancer bolt isn’t backing out or anything like that….
I would most definitely look into finding another tuner close by to check the tune.
