I have a 2008 c6 a6 running American racing headers, hi flow cats, X pipe, cold air intake, Borla ataks & a good tune has been done ... once the rpm's are up, I'm more than satisfied with the speed as I get stuck in the back of my seat.
however, off the line or in a slower roll I'm wondering what I can do to help with quickness? Just looking for a little more snap as I don't want to flip to paddle shifters to control the rpms in a quick street race. Yes, I wish it was a manual too. Thanks for the input!
If you don’t want to manually shift but have are okay with using the paddles to downshift you can set the tcm tune to auto shift even when using the paddles… I’m sure others will chime in. I also changed my downshift speeds so it will kick it down into first below 42 mph compared to the stock 35mph, this was a big gain for me as with a 2nd gear kickdown at 35mph the car felt like a dog.
I know you don't want to use the paddles....but if you leave the transmission in "S" mode on the shifter, you can downshift to the right gear for a roll race. When you punch the gas shift the transmission into "D" and the auto will take over for the gear changes.
