Optima Battery
I have a 99 C5 Hardtop. I would like to replace the current batter with an Optima Red Top. Which Red Top should I get and how much of a problem is there in changing the battery. Do I have to by pall the batter with a plug in 12 v adapter?

Re: Optima Battery (Robert Hegler)
You should post this in the C5 section http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zeroforum?id=1
Don't know if you had a typo but: Are you asking if you need to keep a 12 VDC supply connected while you swap batteries? The answer is no. You can disconnect the battery and swap. You may have to re-set the clock and radio pre-sets. I replaced mine about a year ago. I think it may have even saved the radio pre-sets. Also, one goo way to get a flame war going is to question the quality of the Optima battery ;) . I bought a Champion AGM / gel type battery at Sams for about $95. It comes w/ a better warranty than the optima, plus you don't have to do the UPS thing. I don't know if shipping is free w/ the optima.
