When I get my Vette, this is one of my first mods I would like to do.
So we will be talking soon.

My question is once you lay all this stuff down do you spray the back of the carpeting with 3M spray to keep it from sliding on the aluminum?

Will the price for the vert model be less than the coupe? Just wondering, 'cause there is less material involved?
I am interested in this product. I notice alot of heat around my console area. I have wrapped my pipes from the cat back through the end of the tunnel. I noticed a small relief, but still needs help.

The Elite Engineering tunnel plate eliminates most of the console area heat.

I installed Dynamat Pro in the doors & trunk, which helped a lot with noise intrusion.

Yes, Jeff over at Elite Engineering is a good friend and we've both been selling our products to some of the same customers now for quite a while - as they compliment each other well.

There's no need to glue the carpet to the insulation, it's not glued in there now It just sits in place and is held in by seat bolts, or plastic panels, etc. The carpet simply installs back over it, no problem.

4 kits left of the 10 right now, but will have more late this week most likely. This is a great weekend mod that you definately won't regret doing, won't effect the resale value of your car unless you tell the buyer it's there (because you'd never know it was, other than it's quieter in the car than a car without it), and will only increase your driving comfort for sound and heat. With over 1000 kits sold to C5 owners (and, as stated before, a lot of them from the forum) I can sell this kit with solid confidence in it, and also because my cars are done with it Dodge wouldn't have used it in their Vipers if it didn't work!

Be warned though, this was NOT precut and had to be bought in bulk. It cost me over 700 bucks without shipping and its a major PITA to install. If I had seen cowboy's option first I would have bought the tar based material and installed that underneath. Then bought this and installed it over the top for maximum sound deadening.

It would have saved me a ton of money and headache plus I was very satisfied with his partition so I can only assume it would be the same with this.

I'll be interested when you have the vert section ready, or if you start selling cabin only. I installed the SS ceramic tunnel plate from Elite. I added (coated) headers & HF cats at the same time. I don't feel a change in the heat diffference at all. Could be the header/plate install offset each other temp wise, I dunno. But in any case, I'd be interested in anything that reduces the heat out put to the console area. But noise isn't an issue for me so I don't really care about the trunk area.

I'd have to spend some time to figure all that out to be honest. Never really looked into it. I base the material used on how many kits can be made per bulk order of material. It covers all the area shown and also includes about 12 square feet of extra material with it.

Simply put it rejects 98% of radiant heat with the aluminum coating and the neoprene in between acts as a sound barrier / 'vibration sponge' if you will.

I did Dynapad in my coupe and the cargo area floor, along with the back of the passenger compartment behind the seats and covering under the console took 24 square feet ( two 32" x 54" sheets with no waste)

The Dynapad which is a thicker material that gives better sound deadening ran over $200.00 for the two sheets, so Dan's pricing with the thinner material, cut to fit is very inexpensive !!!!

I would think the cargo compartment sides and the floor would be at least another 24 square feet.

Estimate that about 50 square feet is required.

I measured the rear cargo compartment and it measured 39 inches long by 59 inches at the widest point. This works out to about 16 square feet. Why would 50 square feet be required?

If you reread my post, the area calculated would be for the cargo area floor, sides, and passenger compartment rear, console, sides and floor.

Yes, it does, with pictures and diagrams also. Just one more thing that helps make this kit much easier than venturing into insulating the interior insulation on your own with a roll of material and no idea where to start!
