You can definately cut out the rear area. I'm working on mine right now. You can also cut out the inner liner for more clearance, but need to be careful as the liner is right up against the outside layer where it is natural to cut it. I had this hood on my daily driver for over two years unpainted and the finish still looks great. I did finally decide to partially paint it though, as well as open the rear vent and remove the liner. Once the liner is removed, there is some work to get the underside of the top layer paint ready as the fiberglass on the bottom side of the carbon is a bit rough.
