I have Stingers on my 06 convertible with long tube headers. The sound got louder with the addition of the headers and new X-pipe but not to the point of being annoying. I installed a Vortech V2 supercharger a month after the header install and there was no change to the exhaust note. I'm thinking ATAK with headers and X-pipe could get pretty loud.

Just received my C6 ATAK axel back today. Super excited

I should mention these guys are great to work with. Excellent customer service. In my case, due to an out-of-stock issue directly at Borla, my order kept getting delayed (they were in the process of starting to manufacture these and kept extending the deadlines). However, the communication from MarylandSpeed was great and I greatly appreciate them dealing with my frustration. They even sent me a free t-shirt which was a nice gesture.

A+ service.

Also, look for a review of the Atak system early next week. I will try to post before and after videos as well as some install videos. It will be in this thread that I started to chronicle my recent mods:

The Z06 axle back works just fine. I just completed an install of the ATAK system on my car. Now it sounds like a Corvette. Thanks Maryland Speed for a great offer.

Does anyone have any real-life pictures of these installed?

What do you want to see? I can take a picture of the Stingers on my 06 conv. and the ATAK on my 13 427 when I get home from work if that will help you.

If those look the same as the LS3 ATAK, sure that would be great. I guess just a shot or two straight from the back, and back quarter view would be awesome. Thanks.

My ATAK is for an LS7 so the tips may be different. The rest should be the same but you can confirm with Maryland Speed.

The inter cooled tips like posted above are LS7 only. The LS3 has more traditional double wall tips.

If so, how does the Borla X-pipe provided with the S-Type II cat-back # 140440 kit differ from the factory installed X-pipe? If little or no difference, then S-Type II axle-back #11811 looks like the kit for my GS ??
I believe you saw the factory "H" pipe. I believe "X" pipes became standard on the Z cars starting with 2012. If I'm off on the year / model somebody please feel free to correct me.

The "X" is supposed to have better sound / performance. I'm not sure if you'd be able to hear / feel a difference between the "H" and the "X." That might be a great topic to start. I'm considering an Atak for my Z and am not sure if I should get the X-pipe or not.

Those prices are amazing... if I needed an axleback I'd jump all over this.
