Carlisle Weekend - RPI Welcomes you all!!
We are happy and excited to share with you all a wonderful and heartwarming story.
In 2003, the PYFC team (affiliated with RPI) crafted the exquisite "2003 Corvette Z06" car. It remained in our care for several years before finding a new home with another owner. However, fate had a surprise in store for us! Just last month, we stumbled upon the car for sale, a mere 8 miles away from our Ohio shop. Astonishingly, it had journeyed all the way from Washington state, traversing the entire span of the country. Two decades later, this cherished vehicle has reunited with PFYC. It's truly remarkable to see a car with such history and sentimental value come back into our possession again after so many years. We were so excited.
After undergoing meticulous restoration, it has emerged even more resplendent than before. As a testament to its allure and the quality of RPI products used in its rejuvenation, we're thrilled to present it as our brand ambassador at the upcoming Carlisle event. This event offers a unique opportunity to admire the remarkable transformation and the careful attention to detail that went into this restoration project. I'm sure car enthusiasts will appreciate the hard work that went into restoring this classic beauty.
The below section outlines the various changes we made to make it a very comfortable daily drivable Z06
Brakes
The following brake components were used to drastically improve the car's braking performance. These components not only help the car brake harder and faster, but they also help prevent overheating, which means the brakes continue to perform even after hard use.
Intake and Exhaust
By freeing up exhaust restriction and equalizing exhaust flow, the engine can breathe more efficiently and generate more power.
Suspension and Handling
Lowering the car and improving traction provided the needed handling characteristics to tackle the race track efficiently. By keeping a set of tires for off-track use, driving comfort is also taken into consideration.
Protection
The use of synthetic fluids and heat-blocking materials help to prevent long-term wear and tear on the drivetrain and other components of the car.
Full data acquisition
Keeping track of the car's performance during runs helps to pinpoint areas where performance can be improved. It also generates some pretty cool videos!
Safety
Driver safety is of the utmost importance, the following components help improve the Corvette's already impressive safety features. These improvements were made with track-use in mind.
Comfort and Convenience
As stated earlier, the goal of this project was to create a car that could be used both as a competent track performer as well as a comfortable daily driver. And it had to look and sound good too!
Appearance and Protection
This had to be more than just a great-performing car, it was built to be shown off! Towards that end, the exterior received a full treatment to match the unique and exciting performance
