Octane boost
What is the easiest way to get to 93 octane. Las Vegas does not carry it. And unless Rebel stations still carry 100 octane, because 76 stations have quit carrying it then I am out that solution. Does octane booster work as advertised?

Buy Tolulene and Xylene in 5 or 10 gallon containers and mix 50%/50% and then put into quart sized containers. Add one quart to each complete fillup. This should run about 20% of what octane boosters run a the parts stores.

Torco is supposed to work great. jbsblownc5 (mostly found on the C5 FI section) is an official dealer, and can get you as much or little as you need.

I work in a lab and we deal with these chemicals, I am not sure about Tolulene but I am sure that Xylene absorbes directly thorough the skin. Xylene also will go through most laytex gloves in a matter of minutes.
Xylene is known to do significant liver dammage, so I say dont screw with it unless you know what you are doing.
we use nitrile gloves under a fume hood to avoid exposure.

I also strongly disagree. Blew a motor in my TT NSX in AZ/NM going 185ish

I have the best price for Torco on the Net!
One 32 oz can of Torco mixed with 18 gallons of 91 octane gas will put you right around 94 octane.
While the car may seem as though it runs ok on 91, just put some Torco in there on your next fill up and see what happens. I was at Buttonwillow raceway last weekend, and met 2 guys running 91 in their C5 Z06s. They each put Torco in their tanks and dropped a few seconds off their lap times. They both said they could feel the SOTP increase.
It's not that Torco or any other competent way of raising your octane will give you more HP, it's just that by running enough octane to keep you on the higher octane tables in the computer, you will have all the avaliable timing/HP.
I mixed 10 gallons of 91 octane with one 32 oz can of Torco and had Saybolt Labs in Carson do a octane test. The results were 96.5 octane!
Let me know if you guys need some,
JB
