Mods on a Budget
Finally got my Z06..traded in my C5, now money is gonna be a little tight for a while till i can start to slowly hide some from my WIFE! So my question to you guys is what are all the cheapest mods that i can do? Say under $300 at a time..I know yall have a few secerts that yall can share..
First couple mods i have done are:Pull the fuse,painted rims,lowered with hardbar lowering bolts, and i am about to rip open my stock exhaust and seal up the inner pipe..any suggestions are welcomed.

Best "secret" I can share with you, is you have a Z06. Most powerful normally aspirated Corvette ever built. 427 cu in engine. There is no need for cheap mods. Save your money. And your efforts. Drive the car.
Best advice you're gonna get.

If you are on a budget, and money is tight, why bother with modding a Z06 at all?

Some improvements that you could make that are not to costly are - thermal padding and a ceramic tunnel to cool the inside of the car down and a cold air induction system - I hadn't thought about the shifter but would be interested in hearing more about it's improvements over the stock shifter.

MGW really makes a difference in the way the car feels. Great mod for under 300. If all you're interested in is looks, get rid of that stupid GM emblem in front of the rear wheels. Won't cost you a cent.

CAI and predator tune works well.About 400 each, and the hand held tuner allows data logging and a bunch of other things you can adjust.I have my fuel trims perfect on my car, but now i want more. And that my friend is the problem in a nutschell. "never enough".

I'm going to leave the powertrain stock, but do have the following mods planned:
* Some kind of mat + exhaust wrapping.
* MGW Shifter
* Going to think about adding insulation to the tunner area on the inside of the car when I get the speakers replaced.
Without a tune, adding a CAI is useless IMO. The MAF will adjust a little but not enough to warrant a $350 air filter. How much are replacement air filter elements anyway? I cant afford an out-of-warranty situation so I'm leaving it stock just to avoid any problems. My local dealers are *******s.

MGW shifters rule. Check the threads on this forum. George even sent me an updated version of the shifter after I had already installed mine. I never asked or complained, it just showed up with instructions. That's customer service.
