Help, higher water temp using Evans coolant in a 440ci and RPM heads
Hello,
I just installed a new 440ci LS7 short block with RPM-ported heads and Vararam.
These other parts I transfered them from the original 427: Kooks, cam, DeWitts rad., 160* T stat.
The engine runs in the 230s at not over 3000rpm during the break-in period. When it was 427 it was fine at around 200 degrees.
I took all the water (water and DexCool) out of the radiator and heater cores (block is new) and pour in about 3.3gallons of NPG-R and now the temps are higher than ever!!!
Is anyone in this forum using this coolant that is supposed to be the best??? Any ideas why this is happening?
Thank you very much,

Burning Brakes
I have used Water wetter in all my cars. will drop the temps 20 degrees. also check the blockage to the oil cooler and radiator. I had similar results and removed the blockage and down went the temps.

Read the literature on this stuff. It's says right in the technical information that you will run HOTTER. The theory behind NPG is that it's ok to run hotter water temperatures because the boiling point is much higher than water.
