Default Wheel/Tire vibration problem fixed **

First, I would like to thank everyone for their help on what the problem could be.

Took the car to the only place that I would allow any touching of my wheels .

Had all 4 wheels checked and tires road forced re-balanced on the Hunter machine.

Findings:

Each front wheel was out of balance by 1/2 ounce. (One front wheel didn't have any weights at all and needed the 1/2 ounce to bring it into balance.)

One rear wheel had the weight shifted by 12 inches. The weight was removed and the same amount (1/2 ounce) was put back on in the correct location. (I guess some aggressive driving caused it )

The remaining rear wheel was fine, and balanced as is.

Drove the car home, smooth as silk.

Now you can be "certain" about the weight(s), glad it was the least of possible problems. If only everything could be so easily resolved.

Its not easy to find shops to work on the Z wheels without damage.

Excellent!

(the weight shifted? My weights are stuck on with adhesive so 'shifting' would seem more than a little unlikely.)

However, I wonder if the tire would "slip" (rotate) if one was too agressive before the lubricant they use to mount tires dried out and the tire was fully "stuck" (hence why some top fuel cars used to use fasteners to keep the tires from slipping on the rims?)...

Yes, the tire moved on the rim that far.

The weights were glued down good.

I'm marking the weight locations on the rear tires, so I'll know if they shift again.

my guy that mounted my last set of tires told me to take it easy for a 100 miles or so or they could slip on the rim. I put a paint mark on the tire aligned with the valve stem to make sure they didn't move.......3500 miles later all is ok.

Great Info

Too bad mine didn't tell me that.
