I want to get a rear pair of Rims & Drag Radials

What Wheel diameter and width, tire manufacturer and size would you recommend.

I just received the new Nitto 345/30/19 DR's. They will fit a factory rear wheel just fine and I anticipate them working out pretty well judging by how wide and sticky they are.

Corvette-wheels.com sells 18x12 repo's. You can run a MT ET Streets II DR 345/35R18.

I like Nitto's, im going to try them next

I have C5 Z06 fronts with 315/35 17 Mickey Thompson ET street DR.... They work great!!! The shorter tire helps bring the revs up quicker too!

Big spread in opinions here.

17 x 9.5" with 275's
18 x 12"
19x12 with 345's

What charateristics would you see form each.

Some say bigger rims just mean more expensive tires.
Other say revs. ramp up better.....

What about grip, I would think that the 345's would be meater.......

What do you guys think........?

From an engineering view you would like the smallest diameter wheel that will clear your brakes. This in turn increases the tire sidewall which allows the tires to squat when launching (lowering the gear ratio) and grow in high gear (raising the gear ratio).

Watch one of the high speed cameras following a top fuel dragster. The tire/wheel will squat so much on launch that the metal rim will almost contact the concrete. Then in high gear they will grow several inches adding to the mph trap speed.

Having said this, almost any drag radial you can fit will be a huge improvement over your OEM Goodyear Supercar tires.
