Default 09 z

Getting ready to pick up am 09 Z06. Is there anything besides the valve guides that I should check before I purchase? It has less than 15k on it.

Victory Red with Ebony interior. Appears to be a 2LZ option car with red sticthing on the black seats.

Chrome spyder wheels too.

Thanks!

Victory red. It's an Oregon one owner car. I don't have the option list in front if me, but I'm sure it does not have navigation. When I drove it I noticed the front tires rubbed a bit when turning sharp...is that normal??

Not normal. If he has upsized the tires then that can happen but stock tires won't rub. The brake ducts could be loose and rubbing which would be easy to fix.

Just check on the brakes, clutch fluid, tires. Tires can easily cost more than what it takes to swap valve guides but people don't complain about putting new tires on.

Other than that, just normal wear/tear.

It probably is not rubbing on anything, but what someone here referred to as "crabbing".

This happens to my car on damp days. Basically, one tire is moving and the other is sliding a little and grabbing again.

Another description of the "crabbing" is that the inner and outer tires actually scribe a circumference of a different circle when turning sharply. It is designed in our suspension to get better at the limit handling.

Valve guides are in the head, and not a quick thing to check. You have to remove the valve covers/etc to get to them.

Actually I meant the guide for it. Where can I find it before I buy a new Z?

Know that the engine is noisy and not necessarily a problem. If the car was run hard, definitely check the valve guides. I have had zero problems with my 09 since it was new and I have 32K on it now. Great and very reliable car. Oh, I did have to change the fob batteries this year.

Well....I talked the dealer into delivering the car to me, rather than risk driving it home i this crazy snow storm! So i should have it by this weekend ready to terrorize the Central Valley roads....

Also made sure they kicked in a 3/36 warranty. So Ill not worry about valves or engines for three years. Ill post pics when it arrives...but its your typical red Z.....

(Im kinda glad I sold my 78 Pace car now......)
