I know this question has been asked and answered many time before. But being a worry wart, I like to get someone's opinion again before I decide. Will this new shock lower the car even more? I can't afford to lower the car even a bit where I live.

I have the same problem where I live and I haven't noticed a difference. I needed to slow to a crawl to go up my driveway w/o scraping the splitter before the shock change and it's no better or worse now with these shocks. I got back from some canyon carving about an hour ago with a grin on my face. You won't enjoy the install but you'll love driving afterwards.
It looks like this thread may have died with maybe 7 sets sold. Have you thought about posting this offer in C6 Tech/Performance as well as C5 Tech/Performance and C5 Z06?
What is the average lifespan of the original OEM shocks? I have 62K miles and about 25 track days.
And I too want to make sure there is no change in ride height.

My daughter's '99 has ~160k miles and maybe 5 autocrosses on the original OEM shocks and their still not what I'd consider "bad". I can detect just the slightest amount of "float" at interstate speeds but they still maintain good control of the body.

How does the DRM revalve work in drag race type applications as far as promoting better traction and wheel hop? Any body got any answers??
They were not built for drag racing, but like most good shocks. They will be a improvement and I have heard from many people that the wheel hop is reduced.

I need an excuse to buy these. I was hoping Randy would say that the OEM's are junk after 50K

They are junk, swap them out Actually I have seen stockers **** all over themselves after 17 miles and some of them are still good after 100k. But then we have to ask the question, are they of a worse design????

Now there's the better question and the reason I'm going with your custom valved Bilsteins. I'm sure her stock shocks could go another 40K miles at the rate their going but these are way better than the stockers ever dreamed about on their best day and Daddy's "little girl" deserves the best.
I can still call her my little girl even though she's 23...I'm just having trouble doing it when she stands at 5'11" and I'm looking up to her.
