Anybody heard of a Pilot Car labeled as a COPO for 2006. If so, what does all that mean.

The Central Office Production Order (COPO) was a back door around Chevrolet's performance limits.

These "special" orders took place back in the 60's for motorheads that wanted beasts from the factory.

Not aware of COPO's for early model C6Z's...

Yes sir, just as the above thread pointed out....GM built 427 aluminum engine back then and a iron block w/alum. heads etc ....and COPO was the primary way to get the "special" chevy performance back then for the little guy....there was another 'special' 427 as well....at least the induction and internals were special....it was called the L88....only available 1967-1969....not many were made but the 'little' guy could get one this way....used "high" octane fuel as well....not a street car per se....only found in Vettes as well (from my knowledge base (meaning what I renenber reading)...."if" you can find one for sale today you will pay 'big' bucks to own one....as well as a ZL1 Vette...they made more ZL1 Camaros than Vettes as well....both bring BIG bucks today...
