Default Mice in the garage, now what?

I have the Z stored for the winter in a non-heated garage that is not attached to the house. I have 4 mouse traps in there and I checked them today and I caught 1 mouse and the other traps had been eatn but never went off. I also found mouse crap on a shelf. So what can I do to keep the mice out of there. The doors seem to be sealed but mice can get anywhere. Does the ivory soap or bounce dryer sheets work? I have to mouse proof the garage asap!

De-Con works. Keep baiting until you no longer see evidence of mice activity.

Anyone try those things you plug in that give off a sound humans can't hear but apparently mice can? It's supposed to irritate them so they leave.

Ex-Lax.....its after effects are very unpleasant for the little guys. They dont know when to stop eating it and it will probably kill them by making them ................well you get the picture. Just make sure that young children dont have access to the area.

Moth ***** or dryer sheets. Only thing I dont like about Moth ***** is that the smell tends to get in the car and it smells like grannys closet, but I think they work good. I might try dryer sheets this winter.

I think the De-con or mouse trap is the best solution.

Let us know.. 2k

I also have a detached garage with no heat. I tried everything from the above posts, all were just temporary. I now use 2 rat zapper ulta units with peanut butter, 1 on each side of the car (outside the car), & "fresh cab" botanical rodent repellent inside the car (smells good). Google "fresh cab", money back guarantee. The stuff seems to be working, no mice inside the car, & catching mice with the zappers. I also have an attached 3.5 car garage with 0 mice without any traps or repellent, go figure.

If you have to plug any holes, mice won't chew thru steel wool. If the area is wet, they also make copper wool that won't rust and mice won't chew thru that either.

At a minimum, I would stuff some steel wool in the tailpipes to keep them from building a nest inside your muffler cans.

If you get time watch the youtube "Monty Python" sketch where people join a secret club where they can dress up anonymously as mice.
I think there is even a farmers wife and grandfather clock.
