Default CAGS Bypass Harness or Fuse?

I drive an '07 Z06. I need the CAGS bypass, but not sure if it is better to purchase and install the CAGS Harness or the CAGS fuse. I have read that some people have had the "check engine" light come on when the fuse is installed.

Please help.

yes - i understand the cags bypass harness is very simple. BUT, since i only take the car to Chevrolet to service, they are going to charge me an hour of labor to put the car on the lift and spend the 10 seconds to connect the harness.

I saw the Fuse from Corvette Mods and thought that is really cool and i don't need a lift for installation. Again, some people said they did this option and got the "service engine" light.

I don't mind paying Chevrolet if people think the fuse is a bad idea.

Glo Fuse and burn the fuse. It will NEVER set the CEL. I've got 30k miles on my 08 with this mod and have never seen an issue with the CEL.

I have the $20 bypass and have had no problems but there are some that have reported problems with the blown fuse. In my case, I have a 4-post lift so the installation was a breeze. Since you don't have an easy way to install the bypass, I would recommend that you first try the blown fuse(cheap and easy to install) and then, if you have CEL problems, go with the $20 bypass.

I just use that thing under my right foot. It's much easier.

I have a lift so installing the CAGS plug wouldn't be an issue and I purchased the fuses so I could do the fuse fix but just haven't bothered. Just not that big of a driving force. CAGS almost never interferes except if I forget about it when driving in slow traffic. After the first time it happens I remember and shift around it. As long as you go into second gear before you hit 14 mph you will never hit the CAGS so why waste 5 minutes or even a dime on a fix.
