Default Front tires wearing faster than rear ones...

I have a 2013 Z06 and run it pretty good. It seems like the front tires are wearing faster than the rear. I keep the pressure at 30 on all 4 tires all the time. Anyone else notice this??

Front tires wear more bc of the weight in the front. I don't spin my tires or do burnouts but I do take corners & exits fast.

Alignment may be set up to help this as well. I changed my 09 to the Pfadt specs and wear much better than with stock settings.

Same here. Fronts wearing before rears.

Very typical for all C5 & C6 corvette models and not just the Z cars. Less aggressive alignment specs will help.

This would be considered normal for any car. Tires are rotated because the effect of turning the car wears the front tires more than the straight running rears. There is no rotation option our big a$$ tires so the fronts wear faster.

There is no more weight in the front than there is in the rear. These cars have a 50/50 weight distribution.

Check the alignment and go less aggressive. I run a slightly less aggressive front camber than stock on the streets. I ran my front Nitto Invos for over 20K miles, and they still have good tread on them. I was on my second set of rear Invos when I changed all four to MPSS. I will get it realigned before a track day (with a different set of tires).

With the alignment chnage I will have to get a set of rears before fronts wear out. This was just the opposite before I changed.

I have never had a rwd car where the front tires wear faster than the rears.

Were you able to rotate the tires on the other cars?

I don't know what "run it pretty good" means but if it involves heavy braking into corners and trail braking, then this is not that surprising. The car is well balanced and it's weight evenly distributed while standing still but under heavy braking there is a lot more weight on the front than the back. And if you continue to drag the brakes down to the apex the front tires are both turning and braking while the rear tires are almost along for the ride. If clockwise road courses are involved in "run it pretty good" you'll probably also find that it "seems like" the left front is worn more than the right front.

I melted the fronts pretty good doing road course "work" on my previous '13 Z06...especially the time I didn't wait for a cool-down between sessions...it was worth it though...driving on "greasy" tires builds character and skill...and scares the crap out of your passenger! LOL

When I first picked up my new 2008 Z06 I spoke to the dealership's alignment mechanic who told me that the factory set standard front alignment spec was set for aggressive driving. I advised the mechanic that I had no plans to drive the car hard. With that he adjusted the alignment specs to be less aggressive in wearing on the outside edges of the front tires. Currently my car has 10,700 miles on the odometer and the front tires show no signs of abnormal wear. Have 5/32s left while the rears have 4/32s. Both the inside and outside edges of the front tires show no sign of wear.

Use the Pfadt street alignment specs rather than the factory settings.

My fronts wear on the very inside corners. My rears also wear on the inside more and I just replaced them because of this problem. Was told this is normal wear for my car from the local dealer and a reputable tire shop. My LS3 narrow bodied vette never wore tires like this. Not satisfied that I have to live with this.

I set mine to zero camber to prevent the inside wear. Two things cause changes in this, suspension sags with time, increasing negative camber and most alignment shops I don't believe ever heard of the work calibration.
