Why does it seem that LSA guys push there cars harder then LS9 guys?
If you look on the CTS-v and ZL1 forums they are covered with 700+ rwhp LSA's with heads/cam/headers/pulleys/tune (even with autos). You almost never see ZR1's on here making over 700. Why is that?
And LSA guys on top of that seem to have no problem throwing NOS on there cars and making 850+ rwhp on stock bottom ends. Again something you almost never see on a ZR1 despite the LS9 being a stronger motor.

i have ported heads, a blower cam, smaller pulleys, injectors, headers, tune, CAI, ported snout and i'm right at 700 whp. it seems like i know of a lot zr1's that are in the same boat or headed in that direction.

I think its a matter of simple economics with a hint of demographics. You're starting with a 35,000-45,000 car and the mods are less money than mods for a ZR1(the lovely Corvette Tax).
With a ZR1, most have spent 100k on their car. While most ZR1 owners can most likely afford the mods, they are happy with the stock power and piece of mind of having a warranty; while the other car owners are chasing the holy grail so to speak(ZR1=King of the Hill)

I think the question is how FAST you want to be ... a 600rwhp zr1 equal or outrun 700rwhp ctsv or zl1( not exact measure but u see my point ) zr1 lighter don't need much modding .... So that's why some people are satisfy with the performance or the car ..

Get the that german guy to take molds of his ZR1 front bumber with the twin HE's in, and then use them in conjunction with a larger HE in the normal location. Job done!
Alternative someone needs to develop a rear mounted unit with ducted air to / from it!

I got my V-coupe first, & it's fun...but..... the ZR1 is a LOT more fun!! Warranty preservation & time is a big factor right right now like 'TimmyZ06' mentioned, but in the future I can see the possibility of a Katech Stage 4 or LPE mods to the ZR1. I wouldn't even consider putting that money into the V, what's the point. I grab the ZR1 keys a whole lot more than the V, it's than much more fun to drive.

I have a '12 CTS-V and a '10 ZR1, so I have both an LSA and LS9. Both are awesome cars/engines. I ran an approximately 750rwhp highly modded six-speed manual CTS-V sedan and he pulled my bone stock ZR1 about 1.5 cars to 140mph from a 60 punch. So, it takes A LOT more power on a V to equal the stock acceleration of a ZR1. Combination of weight, gearing, etc.
I have an Airaid on the V and my ZR is bone stock. I keep the ZR bone stock because I track it and the cooling capability is marginal as it is with how hard I run it, so adding horsepower without adding cooling wouldn't help much for me. Then, the warranty is out the door which I want to keep.
