Why can't the street version look like that? That is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen.

to me, it's fine for a race car but I don't like it for the street...maybe the photo angles in the linked-article don't do it justice...

the only view that looks decent (to me) is the full-side profile view...

the angle of the roof vs the body of the car looks wierd, at least from the front...same for the front-fascia

but, I'm no expert on design !

I hope they stay in ALMS but with no TV coverage except ESPN3 I can see why they are doing it.

Did I miss who is supplying the engines?

Wicked race car. Love it. So nice to see so many racing iterations of the Corvette.

It doesn't look like any other Datona prototype ever. It actually has some decent styling instead of the same old aero curves. If GM would widen the passenger compartment a little, add a little more ground clearance and use the area behind the transaxle for storage, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Oh, yea, don't forget the LS-7.

It is quite different than "other" DPs. The rules have changed for this year and the greenhouse is now much narrower relative to the full body width, which drastically changes the appearance of the car. The nose is completely different as well. This body will fit 3 DP chassis; the Coyote, the Riley, and the Dallara.

I like it very much, but then again I think they made it look much more like a car I am very familiar with.....

That is one verrrry nice DP design Love the Corvette cues incorporated all the way around, especially the ones more prominent in the front and rear Can't wait to see it in action

Not me!!

The title says "Daytona Prototype", so I was expecting to see a DP car.

Butt, dayum......it's a picture of a Corvette!!!!

It's definitely a Corvette - just like the title says, a "Corvette Daytona Prototype", and the best looking DP car ever!!

And I failed to mention in my post above that I am also excited that it displays the Corvette flags and even an interesting and tasteful split-window design amongst the C6 features.
