What happened when a 392 HEMI Challenger Met My ZO6
They made friends and became garage mates!
And my Quattro S4 was replaced by another true American:
I don't have an M14, so the Kalashnikov will make do. This is my first Jeep since I had the honor of serving with the Ninth Marines

If I were interested in a Pony car, I would go with the Challenger. Wouldn't even waste the time looking at a Camaro, and would only give the Mustang a quick glance.

I love the new Challengers! Good choice. Now just get rid of the Russian. Lol. They are fun to shoot though.

There's no doubt that my ZO6 is a fire-breathing Super car that can see 200 MPH (I've done it), but the Mopar is a true boulevard cruiser.

That's just it, I don't consider the Mopar a "Pony Car." It's larger, rides smoother than my last Audi, has plenty of interior room and a real muscle-car exhaust note. If I close my eyes, I'm back in time driving my new LS6 Chevelle (454/450).

I agree that all three of the current "pony cars" are much larger then the orignal's, but to me, they are still "Pony Cars". No disrespect intended on my part.
My 09 Z06 is huge compared to my 56 and 64 Vettes, in the same vein, it still is a Corvette, just as my old Vettes were back in the day.

Very cool my friend and it probably wouldn't be too difficult to figure out what I thought of your new 392 Hemi Challenger.
I bought my first edition, 2008 Silver SRT8 Hemi Challenger a year ago as my daily driver, and I can tell you it the best car move I ever made. It REALLY helps me beat the winter blues here in the midwest and will do just fine in the snow with brand new Bridgestone Blizzaks on.

Great title... however I did run into a 392 mopar.. sweet car, sounds great.. just the other night.. I was driving home from a client..
In Burbank.. rolling home on Olive Ave.. then this nice 392 rolls up... I am in 3rd ... and I pulled him so easy.. great thing about this car.. you dont have to beat the car to win a race. I did think that the 392 was going to
give me more of a run...
Not even fair for the 392...

If you look closely at the dimensions of the Challenger it is basically a 2 door Chrysler 300, not surprising considering it is build on the same platform...not that there's anything wrong with that, it just goes a long way towards explaining why it would be a great cruising car.
Recently when I was shopping for a nice DD I was seriously considering a 300SRT8, then started looking closely at the Challenger, but ultimately couldn't get away from the lure of big hp. Thus I had to get a CTS-V, because starting with 556hp and the ease with which 750 can be attained was just too hard to pass by
Cheers, Paul.

Ha ha, close to 1000 less pounds with 35 more HP, you'd better be able to make short work of it.

Rolled my '08 JSB Z06 one late Fall afternoon, decided to cruise a local state park. As fate would have it I found myself at the end of a line of cruisers, all Dodges. A Hemi Challenger led the pack, a Viper next then 2 more Hemi Challengers. I'm sure they all spotted me behind them, following every stop they each had to demo their acceleration? Had to be careful I didn't rear-end 'em when catching up, y'know?
Turned off to take another trail & unbeknownst to me they were doing the same route, from the other direction. We met on "Hogs Back" road going in opposite direction & each went out of their way to give a friendly wave & enthusiastic thumbs-up.
Real cars guys, those Dodge owners.

Exactly right, that's why it's such a dream for cruising along with some good tunes playing. I'm loving this thing. And believe it or not, a 12 second car was considered fast back in the day; my 70 Chevelle LS6 ran thirteens before I modded her.

Peter's new 392 Hemi Challenger will run 12.5s, 12.6s, all day long bone stock, and my 2008 Hemi Challenger SRT8 runs 12.7xs with just minor bolt ons. Not bad for a 4050 lb car.
