GT-R don't look like a sportscar, it look like a school kid car and its overpriced, but even if it was a $50k car I still will not buy one because its not and ugly.
Can't wait for a GT-R to pull up on the side of my car.

Based on the C/D testing, it would leave you in its dust from a stoplight to 60 (and it's cheaper?). No worries though, that's why there are so many choices in life: it wouldn't be any fun if we were all the same.

They should have compared the $130k 911S to the Grand Sport instead of the Z06. A Grand Sport with F55 would have all the handling of the Z, and would still have been at least as fast as the 911, so they would not have been able to bitch about the Z06 costing over $100k (ignoring the fact that the 911S was $130K). A GS with more hp than the 911S starts under $60k.

I have no doubt the 911 is a nice car. But shouldn't it be for what it costs? I have a friend with a '12 GTR. Very fast, but not very civilized for street use.

Hey, some people like multi electronic doodad video game type cars that practically drive themselves LOL.
It's the official poster child for the Gran Tourismo/Need for Speed set, yo.

Oh I don't know about that, considering that the slower of his two cars has run low 10s in the 1/4 mile and that was over 100rwhp less ago LOL.
Even with some wheel spin either one of his cars will still destroy any stock Nissan.

Do you think that would have changed the outcome?

That was price "as tested", not the base price.

Porsche are very nice cars. As for the GTR, it is a nice car but it isn't all that noticeable and I would not want electronics driving for me; also they're automatic. If Chevy really wanted to focus on 0 to 60 time with a launch control system I'm sure they could do it

fck these mags. they manipulate the rated attributes to allow the car they are predisposed to choosing to win. id rather have my z over either of those cars.

off topics, but......i beat a 2012 gtr with a tune from a 60 roll by 1.5-2....and my uncles 2011 turbo s pdk from 80-140 by 3+....

Probably not, considering that the editors/testers have notoriously swung off the nuts of the import nameplates since the beginning of time LOL.

True.
And the same could be said about the Z06 as well (only $76k base price, not the $100k+ as tested).

I sold my 07Z for a 2012 GT-R. the GTR gets 10x more attention hands down. it's a light to light killer and awd is a blast. they are apples and oranges and if i had the coin, i'd have both. Should be selling the GTR next week and going back to a Z06 or maybe try a ZR1. leaning towards ordering a 2013 C6Z and if the C7 is all that and a bag of chips i'll trade in the C6Z, if not at least i'll have the last year of the C6. either way you only live once, and so far it's been a fun ride

You think they are paid specifically to come to the conclusions they do?

No, it would not have changed the outcome. It was a joke aimed at the fact that all the magazines absolutely hate something about every Corvette they test, and this time it was the price.

Yes, I get that it was the "as tested" price on the 911. That is also my point about the Corvette. A GS would have listed for $30,000 less than a 911 with no options just like the Z06 cost $30,000 less than the "as tested" 911.

It isn't a point deduction for the Vette, just no point addition.

On the other hand, the Vette received 5 points for trunk space.

Where does the "absolutely hate the price" show up in the points?

In the opinion of the magazine writers? No, of course not.

In the real world though, that $131,250 Porsche would have a hard time shaking a run of the mill GS.

Is that real world "can't shake the other car" a point category?
