2011 Z06 fogged headlamp...warranty item?
Just noticed today when I got home from work that my right side headlamp is extremely fogged inside with no apparent breakage in the seal from the outside or cracked lense cover. With the car less than 1 year old it will be replaced via warranty? I picked up the car last March 2011.

I think I am what you would call an expert in this area Let me share my thoughts with the group on what causes this. I own a manufacturing business that produces vents for automotive applications. Some of these vents are placed on lighting applications that allow air and gas to pass but block contaminants and moisture. I recently just got back into the Z06 world so I am not aware of the vent that is being used on Corvettes but I suspect it is a vented application from one of our competitors. You definitely can have the light replaced under warranty.

I had a much smaller problem of a film on both my lenses, and they were both replaced with no hassles from the dealership at all.
One small heads up: to replace the lens, the front clip needs to be removed and the affected fender needs to be loosened so it can be raised enough to get to the screws and connector to remove the old unit. When they put mine back together the guy didn't line things up correctly, so be sure and check how the front clip lines up with the fender before you leave.
Good luck.

I had that issue on my C6 coupe on both headlights. The dealership replaced them gratis even though they were technically out of warranty. I would say that with a less than year old car, they should definitely replace them.

Has your concern been resolved? Was the dealer able to assist you? Please feel free to contact me with an update.

I was also rather surprised because the dealer also told me that there was a recall notice on my car for replacing the rear glass hatch struts (may come apart from the glass during collision causing the rear window to fly away from the car) which they also ordered but I never received a recall notice for this....I'm wondering if others have?

The whole front clip has to be taken off.
I had the same issue and when they replaced the headlight and the front bumper, the rubber that surrounds the headlamp did not fit as stock. I can actually see through the space and see the ground!!
The headlight used to be flush with the bumper, but not sits 3/8" inch above it.
Check yours...before and after. Take pics!!!!!!!!
