My bone stock, 5,300 mile Z/28 ( LS7 ) had oil in the intake manifold. How the pcv system is designed to work. I put a elite engineering E2 can on. 3,000 miles later bone dry.

One tip off is ARP head bolts, that is a sure indicator the heads have been off.

There is nothing wrong with your engine, install a catch can if the oil bothers you

I just looks like dirt and possibly some oil from putting too much on the originally supplied Vararam filter. You can fix both problems by switching to a paper filter.

I drive a mostly stock 2009 Z06 at HPDE events and never have seen anything like that.

I do not have a catch can.

something didn't sit well with me and this thread... for some reason it kept nagging at me....that amount of fluid on your blade couldn't be normal....

I just started a rebuild on my ls7 and your pictures didn't sit right with me...

I've got an 07z that's stock and finally got a chance to look at my gear.... this is 73k miles.. with a bunch of hpde events and lots of time with the throttle open...

I made 45x/42x to the wheels before I pulled the motor...

this is my throttle body, untouched.... added a new k$n filter 10k miles ago...

you've got far too much oil entering your intake tract from somewhere...

since it's coated your blade, start with pcv line before the blade and work for way back...

how many miles on your ls7?

Typically people over-fill the oil tank and this happens.

yeah exactly, my meaning was that oil on the blade isn't normal and something is going on...

rereading my post I guess I was being a little dramatic

The whole PCV system sucks. Ya got the the valley cover to intake manifold connection that's limited by a small orifice (around .060" or so?). Works Ok at idle when intake vacuum is hi and blowby is lo. Crank it up and intake vacuum drops and blowby increases.and that route just can't handle it. So now it all goes out the 2 valve cover connections thru the oil tank connection, to the connection just in front of the throttle body. And there's your mess. I junked the whole thing Capped off the valley and intake connections. Ran the 2 valve covers and oil tank to a catch can. To be legal catch can out to intake manifold connection. Another way is catch out to a breather filter.
