[Z06] How Many Z06 Owners Are Running Solid Stainless Exhaust Valves?

Can someone tell me what Ferrea Super Alloy valves are made of?
I have found a few examples of people running these also in lieu of the stock hollow stemmed valves.
Thanks

I only have 3,000 miles on my new setup with bronze guides (original guides were in spec despite 4 yrs with a cam fwiw), new OEM exhaust valves and katech ti mo intake valves. I will continue to rack up the miles however, and report everything on here.

That is being nearsighted looking at the result of worn guides causing a concentricity issue which is likely the key issue, nothing has proven to be wrong with the valve itself. I work at an OEM, I see the dollars flow through R&D and the incredible testing they do, they have a ton more knowledge than anyone doing 10-20 head jobs per year. There is a reason why the OEMs go with hollow/sodium filled vs. SS. It would be fair to say any engine pushing the limit with power/reliability is more of a gamble than a low output commuter car, that I'd agree with.

Like the thread title says, some of us thought it a good idea to get a feel for how many on this forum have changed from the OEM hollow stemmed exhaust valves, over to a solid stainless exhaust valve.
I figure this will give us information on two fronts.
It will let us know how many have any sort of mileage on this type of setup as well as draw attention to any issues as a result.
Also, those of us who have switched to bronze valve guides, but stuck with the stock exhaust valves, it would be good to hear from you too.
If you've gone to bronze guides, then if your stock guides were in spec or out of spec, when you changed to bronze guides, well then post that information up too.
Thanks

I did my Stage IV conversion around 11K miles, and that included the head work and replacing the exhaust valves, but no guide replacement. I had the cam in it already with the stock valves for about 3K miles before that. When I de-tuned the car late last year (different cam, different clutch, ceramic coated the headers), car had about 22K miles on it, so I ran roughly 11K miles with the stock guides and the Ferrea valves. I have about 3K miles on this new setup so far.

To be completely honest, I never told Richard @ WCCH specifically what to do other than "do everything to them that you normally do." He knew that Katech was building the engine and I shouldn't have assumed that he would do stock valves. He installed solid SS valves when he built them and I didn't know that until after they were shipped back to me and I saw the receipt. However, Jason did yell at me a little for doing that.
In either case, I am not worried about the engine at all and we've had lot's of trouble free fun with it.

Below are 25 that I found in just a short period of time. I am sure there are more. Some of these people have yet to chime in though.

if you track the car, we feel ss valves and guides (if out of spec) with the appropriate spring is a wise option... not going to argue about it, we have simply seen way too many failures on bone stock cars....... take it for what its worth...

How many cars have you all done with Solid stainless Valves up until now?
Thanks.

Burning Brakes
I had my heads reworked at about 30k and 30 track events. New SS values on exhaust and new bronze guides for all valves. Still using stock intake valves. New springs throughout. Guide wear I was told was bad and way out of spec but don't have any numbers. Parts are sitting in my garage and maybe at some point I will measure them.

WCCH worked my heads over. SS exhaust with bronze guides. A couple intake valves replaced too due to wear. Big cam, Manley Nextel springs and 13:1 comp with e85. Not many street miles since then but about 7 HPDEs in advanced groups-
