2013 Z06: 1LZ vs. 2LZ : most important difference(s)
I was planning on buying used i.e. 50-60K, but then I talked myself into getting a new 1LZ even though it really stretches my budget. ("you shouldn't be doing this, you shouldn't be this" the small voice says in head)
Now I'm wondering if I'm sacrificing too much by getting 1LZ trim, since I can't afford 2LZ in a new 2013, but could afford it in a 2010 or other used Z06.
I definitely want better seats and plan on replacing the seats with Caravagios in the future regardless of which trim I get, so that's not an issue. (would be nice to have the side/lumbar bolsters, but I think that's a 3LZ feature, not 2LZ) I figure I can install my own sound system, bluetooth, and nav in the future if I want them (which I probably will, but not a pressing need for me). I'm in California and don't need heated seats. I'll be the only driver, so memory package a non issue. Universal home remote - not a biggie. Don't care for Sirius.
So as far as I can tell, the only benefit is an adjustable steering wheel, which I suspect would be nice, but not worth 4K.
Am I missing anything? Heads up display, dual exhaust, and red calipers on the black Z06 should all be standard with the 1LZ, right? I definitely want those.
Here's the list of 2013 2LZ additional items, taken from Kerbeck's website
--------------
Audio System with Bose premium 9-speaker system and USB Port
SiriusXM Satellite Radio additional 9 months of service (12 months total)
Navigation
Bluetooth Connectivity for personal mobile phone
Head-Up Display (??? I think 1LZ also has HUD, right???)
Interior Trim choices of 193, 313, 843, 023, 316, 846 or 026
Heated Seats
Telescopic Steering Wheel
Memory Package
Universal Home Remote
Cargo Net
Luggage Shade

Not sure but base models have power pass seat I think 1lz z06's have this as well went from 09 2lz to 2012 3lz to get power pass seat for wife if I had know that the power pass seat was available on 2lz or 1lz I might have ordered diff. I order my 12 early dealer didn't have a clue what was going on and took del In Aug. My window sticker said mag ride on it GM sent me a corrected window sticker and invoice. It was not only the dealer that didn't have a clue but the people doing window stickers as well.

I specifically wanted the 1LT trim in my '12 GS. I didn't want heated seats, power telescoping steering, nav, or any of that other (heavier) stuff...I just wanted a basic sportscar with fm/cd. I absolutely love the basic, no bulls**t, sportscar interior layout & wouldn't order it any differently if I did it again.
The stock stereo is actually quite good, I added 1" of dense foam to my seat's side bolsters & now it's good to go during HPDE's. I even covered the center console in matte-black 3M self-adhesive vinyl to cover that cheesy faux-carbon fiber print schema so it's matches the interior perfectly now.
I would make the stetch to get a new one, you'll figure out the finances & only live once, just negotiate a good price, & break it in right, get the right mods later on. I think I drove a dealer price down to $63k (w/ rebates) on a '13 1LZ Z06. It's worth every penny of that & then some...

Everyone is a little different. I got a 09 3LZ for close to 1LZ price. For me the big thing was the "leather" wrapped dash. I ended up putting in Caravaggio seats and steering wheel. With the seats and steering wheel plus the 3LZ, I get complements on the interior but don't tell the magazines this, they wouldn't believe me!

I think the upgraded interiors have some nicer features which one would expect to see on cars of this caliber and cost.
But, it does come down to personal preference.
Certainly, if you're going to modify the interior, don't pay for something that you're going to rip-out later...

I recently purchased a 2013 2LZ, the passenger seat with power is on the 3LZ package.

Depreciation on virtually any car is going to be around 10% per year for the first three years.
Honestly, there are so many garage queens with 3+ years of remaining power train warranty; IMHO it's a no-brainer to pick up a "just barely broken in" 2010/2011 with higher trim levels for less money.

I would not want to live without the telescoping steering wheel. I'd take a close look at the options, and see which ones the higher trim levels have, that you can't live without.
I opted for the 3LZ package. I wanted the "upgraded" leather. After I got it, I realized it was a far cry from anything remotely akin to leather.

I own a 1LZ '12. I ordered it that way to get back some of the investment I made in Z07 and B92. I didn't want the GM navi because it's an expensive POS. I do miss the memory package because there's two of us driving the car. The base sound system in a C6 is really good. Unless you're seriously into car audio...which would make much sense because Corvettes are too noisy for that...or your into car audio competition (ie: humongous base and sky-high output power, an aftermarket system won't increase the fun factor.
The rest of the higher-LZ packages are full of crap hard-core Corvette drivers either don't need or shouldn't have, like...heated seats, cushy leather, interior trim appropriate for Cadillacs and etc.
After a year and a half, we love our car which has only two options Z07 and B92.

I would have been just as happy with a 1LZ vs. a 3LZ...and I own a 2LZ. When it comes to the Z...I'm not buying it for the lackluster luxury.
I will most likely order a C7Z in a 1LZ if I can still get the cf trim.

Very sensitive aren't we noob?...
I wasn't really be very harsh.
I love how someone buys a toy and doesn't even know what they bought, then tries to insult someone that makes a slightly sideways correction.
Again, I wasn't being very harsh there Dank, lighten the f*** up...
