Problems Playing MP3s
I have an 08 Z06 and an 09 Z06 and they are both having this same problem.
If I burn an MP3 cd and play it in either car it often repeats the same song over and over even though it's indexing up. Eventually it plays the next song but it's after it repeated the song before 2-3 times. This is even when I press forward and back. Essentially what happens is if I have a list say,
Song 1
Song 2
Song 3
Song 4
And on what will happen is something like this
Song 1
Song 2
Song 2
Song 2
Song 3
Song 3
Song 4
And so song 4 will be played in place of song 7. So when I reach the end of the CD, it won't play all the songs it shoved down in the list.
It is not a problem with the MP3 CD. I've played it in a mini cooper that played MP3 CD's and it works properly on all of my computers.
Any help would be appreciated

I've had the same thing happen to me. Initially I thought I had burned 2 copies of the same song on the disc! Would be nice to know why this occurs.

The Mp3 set up is VERY picky and annoying. If you have too many characters in the file name, this will happen...I think its 23 including ".mp3" but I may be wrong. Also, the ID3 tags of the songs have to be the correct version or the head unit will not recognize it. Basically....it sucks if you dont know how to get around it. Some people use a program called Media Monkey that allows you to choose the file name length for each one prior to burning. I would start with a search for media monkey on here, because im pretty sure there was a walkthrough that a member did of how to set it up for our factory units.
I dont know if MM will do it, but you can convert ID3 tag versions with itunes very easily.

This HU is very "Picky" about the MP3 format. Review these threads paying particular attention to FortMorganAl's posts about how to do it:
