I don't remember the last time a Corvette came with a spare tire. On the C5 (which came out in 97) there was not a spare tire either. Even on the models that came with non-runflat tires , those did not have a spare, but had a patch kit I believe.

im 3yrs new to the usa and its my first vette. in australia all cars must have a spare. its illegal to sell a new car without one. even resell a used car without one. we have the strictest car laws in the world. its crazy. an exhaust plus an air intake qualifies you for a defect. no joke!

Sounds almost as bad as California.

not even close dude. cali is a walk in the park compared to oz. yearly safety inspections. inspections on sale. random police stings at cruise events. stings outside drag strips. every car event there are transport service vehicles waiting to defect even slightly modified vehicles

I would expect the C4 cars had space saver spares but I am just guessing since I never owned a C4. The only C5 and C6 gen cars not to have factory installed run-flat tires were the MY2001 to 2004 Z06s which came with a bottle of puncture sealant goop and an 12v air compressor. No patch kit.

I bought a used C3 many moons ago and dropped the rear tray to make sure that a) a spare was there, and b) it was not flat. All was cool, but there was no jack in there with the tire. I don't remember my exact action but I think I went out and bought a small scissors jack and stuffed it in there with the tire somehow (at that point in time, all the cars I'd seen had the jack located with the tire).
Quite some time/months later, I was cleaning the inside of the car. There are three storage compartments in the C3's, one behind the driver seat and one behind the passenger seat (and one in the middle). The battery is in the one behind the driver seat, while other two are simply storage bins. While trying to vacuum the little stray bits of stuff out of the storage bin behind the passenger seat, I saw that you could simply lift the bin out and empty it.
So I did.
And underneath that removable storage bin I found a pristine -- scissors jack and handle (similar to that below).
