Default Aftermarket Exhaust

Is there an aftermarket exhaust that I can use my mild for wild switch so I can have a bit more rumble when need so but quiet it down while coming home in the evening? Would I increase any horsepower?

Akrapovic or B&B Fusions...those are the only two. The HP gain is debateable, but maybe 10 hp.

I've got BB Fusions and I'm pretty happy with the way they sound. When you close the flaps on the freeway the drone is GONE.

Did you try the muffler mod? I did my own and with the old school mild to wild it sounds great. I did repack less glass before patching. 3000 mi.on it. Still could go after market if it was really less restrictive. Thats doubtful.

I replaced the OE muffler w/ muffler mod with a 3" strait pipe... Lost about 5hp and 5tq at the wheels. Sounds like it has 40 more but performed worse. Something to think about, just because its 2.5" doesn't mean it's holding you back, didn't in my case.

JW how do you like the Melrose Headers? I'm leaning that way.

Like posted B&B and Akra's are the only aftermarket exhausts that retain the flaps. I LOOOOOVVE the sound of my cammed Z w/ Akra's. It sounds insane!! Never heard the B&B's in person but the online videos sound good. Both are nice exhausts IMO but don't know if weight-savings is something that interests you at all. Whether you go with the stainless Akra or titanium, you'll save weight over stock. If I'm not mistaken, the B&B's will add weight.

I'm pretty happy with my OEMs with the muffler mod paired up too some Kooks LTs. The muffler mod sounds similar to Corsa's.

I have the B&B and combined with ARH headers the drone only goes away if you are coasting or barely pressing on the gas. With the valves open, it's almost unbareable. The exhaust kills the stock bose system. On the plus side it does sound awesome from outside the car. I'm sure everyone else likes the way it sounds. lol

I run the B&B fusions with a custom x-pipe along with the stock manifolds/cats. I drive primarily with the flaps open; but if I'm cruising on the hwy with the windows up or I need to use my bluetooth, one tap of my old school M2W switch and the drone is completely gone.

Melrose looked good new and after 25k miles. Never turned colors. not sure power boost because of B&B Fusion added, but the whole set up sounded great.
