My brother owns a new '13 BOSS and '13 GT500. He is a well seasoned driver and I BREAK HIM OFF COMPLETELY in my '09 Z every time he comes wolfing me; those cars are a total disappointment for the cost and hype. Hell Ford can't even put a good set of rear brakes on the BOSS. He still won't buy a Z06 or ZR1.

Against the gt500 , what are his mods and yours ?
I think they are fairly evenly matched stock vs stock

What mods are in your Z06? The GT500 stock makes around 630 Wheel and fights the rear tire for grip.

You sure that's not a happy dyno if they are making 630whp? I thought I've seen more in that 590-600whp range.
630whp would be only a 5% drivetrain loss

Yup 630whp is normal with a pulley and tune.

My buddy has a '13 GT500.

His baseline numbers on his Deep Impact Blue 13 Shelby were not that high. After the baseline runs, while the car was still on the dyno, he installed a JLT Big Air Intake, Ford Racing TB and he loaded a Lund Racing mail order tune.
