Default let's here it, who has blown up their stock Ls7's

How many miles were on it? What was the reason it blew if you know? I was told that there are a lot that never mention or post their story.

Just wonder if its a big number.

2007 Z06 with 5,800 miles. Oil starvation fried the bearings in the connecting rods. Prior to that I had two rocker arms fail and the needle bearings were found on the magnetic drain plug.

Default Blown engine

2007 z06 19,000. Miles dont knoe why it blew but believe thast a valve bent them trough a rod through the side of the block theres a 1 inch hole near the bottom of the block prior to thid they changed the rocker arms in the same cylinder to quiet the ticking sound which sounded like the lifters . I go to court on may 27 for lemon law cause they refused to fix the engine

Yes, I was pulling 1.3 Gs at Moroso in the left hander. For some reason the LS7 suffers oil starvation at high G in L handers

Katech has just finished rebuilding my engine w a racing oil pump, pistons, and other tasty bits with this and my new Lingenfelter sump the oil starvation issues should be over now

Cant wait to get back to the track

Not compared to the roughly 25,000 or so Z06's in existance since 2006.

We have had a couple dozen reported on here, but overall the number is less then .05% I bet

Mine is still running just fine, thank you. 2006 C6Z driven HARD on Hoosier A6s. No oil starvation problem.

2006 w/ 5k miles

1st motor - Oil starvation (long, high G left hander) R6's W/ full suspension.

2nd motor - Thought it was oil starvation again W/ ARE upgrade but ended up being loss of oil due to cam and lifters.

Car only see's track time, its back together now and planning another track day in May.

It better stay together this time!

Mine was an '08, 7K miles, totally stock, oil starvation. Bowling Green replaced the motor under warranty, but would not disclose the results of the engine analysis. This occured in May, 2008. Eight other ZO6's were in BG awaiting replacement motors at the time.

I know of 4 LS7s that have blown here in the area. One was a '06 three were '07s.... all were from a broken valvespring and subsequent dropped valve. Ironically my 100% stock '06 Z broke a valvespring at 14k miles and because I knew about all these other incidents, I shut the car down before the valve dropped!!!! Saved my motor!!!!

I posted it here when it happened....

Jim, old buddy, you haven't seen HARD yet. Wait until I get ahead of that GT-R on the course and watch it disappear in my rear view mirror!!!

Sorry, you'd lose. .05% is 5/100ths of 1%, or 12 cars (rounded). The number is higher, trust me on that.

I wonder what the number is on Porsche's, Vipers, or Ferraris? Surely they see similar results?

I would think that these motors would/could take more abuse then what they do....
