Default Will these valve covers fit?

Any one ever used the Proform 141-261 or GMPP 1915-6429 valve covers? Wondering if these will fit an otherwise stock LS7 without hitting the alternator.

Proform 141-261

Gmpp 1915- 6429

Don't know, but wondering where you are putting the coils when you change over?

Alternator grinding IS required. Ask me how I know. They are definitely not plug-n-play on our LS7. The finished product looks great though, very happy with the results.

^^^Nice!

So where and how much did you have to grind? I've got all kinds of grinders and saws, not afraid to remove a little metal.

What coil brackets are those BTW?

You'll have to grind the fins in the back of the alternator. I packed the fins with Kleenex to keep the filings out and used a pneumatic carbide burr. I removed a good deal of metal, nothing that harmed the alternator though. You'll have to grind, test fit, grind, test fit...

Get Proform's coil relocation kit too. It's made to work with their valve covers. Proform makes the covers for GM too.

I have the Gmpp 1915- 6429 w/the extra thick VC gaskets from Yella Terra YT 5132. I used Katechs old style coil mounts. I drilled and tapped the VC for the mounting bolts. I put a dab of ultra black on the holes. The holes go into the baffled area of the cover.

The polished VCs aren't clear coated and will tarnish if not kept up on regularly. I eventually painted them black wrinkle . Katech/MSD wires or Crane truck wires will fit

Hey Mark, they're polished aluminum from Billet Custom Products, a board vendor. Very nice quality but not cheap.

You can email them @ sales@billetcustomproducts.com

Nice work!

With the GMPP covers and thick gaskets how much, if any, did you have to remove from the alternator?

How did you do the breather hose hookups?

You are going to drop some pretty good coin going to the Katech kit. Although they do look good. Here is a cheaper option, $299 from Holley, and then modify your FRC's to cover up the injectors and wiring:

Fit's fine, no grinding

There is a breather tube on the right VC

Another nice one. How did you get the nice straight cut in the plastic covers? Table saw?

If you look at the pic in the first thread there is a small nipple on the left side similar to the factory. Use a rubber right angle nipple

I don't have any clear pics to show it, sorry

Not aware of any others that have these on both covers, and baffled, that's why I used these, and they are slightly taller about 1/4"

They come with a chromed cover with the Chevrolet script, Polished only with Corvette in black or red script, GM Performance Part Logo lsX polished and no logos on polished cover

See your GMPP dealer or favorite vendor ----- This has been a Film Ways Presentation

Good info, thanks.

Looks like at least 5 ways to go, all look good, which one to choose? Decisions, decisions...

There is actually an indent on the inside of the cover to follow. Use some Blue 3M tape for your line, and then a jig saw, and go slow. Finish it up with some 80 grit and they look perfect. Think it took 10 minutes per side
